Our experience was positive and my impressions are this a Christian family owned restaurant, so the experience will be unique. Everyone was helpful and nice. They have a two kiosks at the front door, you can place and pay your entire order. I like the option to email your receipt, every little bit helps when reducing waste. Make sure to check our uncheck whether you want to share your email with the restaurant. We got a 10 piece on wings, half mild and half hot, those came with ranch and carrot sticks, but no celery. Got garlic cheesy bread which is a 10 inch personal pizza that comes with marinara. We got a 12 inch pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, extra cheese, and Canadian bacon. They did have beer, calzone, spaghetti, and desserts. The wings were good, hot as it was recently made, and the sauce not overpowering with vinegar. The garlic cheesy bread good with enough garlic to keep Dracula away. It just depends on whether you like garlic. I do, my other half doesn't, but hey, it's Italian, everything comes with garlic right? The pizza also very good even though we ordered extra crispy, it came a little on the soft side. Easily remedied by folding it and making it a pizza taco. The restaurant is nice, the Christmas tree was up, the foosball on the TV. They have an area for the kids to play, some tables with toys. There is an outside eating area, but sat inside this visit. A couple of other minor items, more observations, and not necessarily a bad thing, more of a, "huh, the hand soap in the bathroom smells like Robitussin, lol". There was a pendant light that was flickering, the bulb on its way out. I'd get it fixed as it is detracting. They do have Coke products but no Coke Zero. I love me some of that Coke Zero. They have unsweetened tea and I asked for sweet-n-low. They told me they didn't have any. I know each restaurant is different so I asked for whatever they had in an artificial sweetener. Surprisingly, they have no sweeteners at all, no sweet n low, equal, Splenda or stevia, only sugar. Yes, wanting to eat pizza with artificially sweetened drinks is a contradiction, however, every restaurant has at least one. Lastly, the facade has windows which look towards the outside parking lot. It has tint, another plus to reduce electricity usage and keeping the inside comfortable. However, the tint is a bit faded and needs a refresh. Okay, sorry for the tangent.

Read moreMattenga's really missed the mark. Made a visit today with the family; The employee taking the orders was really confused when we asked questions about breadsticks with the spaghetti plate. The food came out to us piece by piece over the course of an hour while missing parts. When the Spaghetti arrived it was missing the complimentary breadsticks plus the extra sticks asked for. We had to wait back in line for about 15 minutes before the one person up front had a chance to ask us what's wrong. The extra breadsticks weren't even added from the start, and the two included sticks were just completely forgotten by the staff. We paid for the extra sticks and went back to the table.
By the time we got back to the table, two people were basically done eating and the other two hadn't received our orders yet. After a long wait, two bread sticks came out but not the extras we had paid for. We had to awkwardly hunt down the lone employee to let them know. More time passed, then my personal pizza came out about 50 minutes into the visit. The pizza wasn't near as good as I've had before and was put together sloppy without care. Finally when everyone was done eating, the calzone had came out for my brother. He decided to just take it to go since he missed the entire dinner waiting on it. The employee that brought out the food didn't even acknowledge the crazy long wait or the order issues. We never got the addon breadsticks and had to go wait back in line again to get a refund on them when we left.
Needless to say, this was a horrible experience. It's made even worse since I spent so much time bragging on this restaurant and hyping it up to my family. It was even on Dave Portnoy's Pizza Review where he even gave it a decent rating, but if he had this experience he would have brought hell down to this shop. I don't know if they were severely understaffed or what, but nothing was prepared or accessible and trying to get help was nearly impossible. With a burn this bad, it's going to take a while for me to want to come back...

Our family has tried many other pizza places but none of them seem to have the quality of Mattenga's, but we didn't want to pay the price @ Mattenga's. Our solution, they will let us call ahead and order dough. Now we order a month of dough at the start of each month for 35 dollars and put them in the freezer.
Each week we can have family pizza night; everyone gets to add there own toppings and our budget is happy! Wanted to share incase anyone else loved this shop but didn't want to spend 50 dollars each week on pizza.

My family has been enjoying getting there pizza kits for family movie night. Lately the amount of sauce and cheese has been getting less and less . Then this week I ordered the kits 45 minutes before I wanted to pick them up. I arrived with two other customers to pick up orders and another couple dining in. The other two got their orders shortly, the other couple ordered and had pizza at their table within 15 -20 minutes. I finally spoke to someone and was told that the kits wouldn't be ready for another 30 minutes! I asked if there was anything that could be done, these were dough, cheese and sauce. . . Uncooked. After a few minutes they came out with the kits and apologies offering to reduce the price by 50%. Unfortunately the computer wasn't working and they would have to call me later. Three days later no call. . . I think we will be looking for a new...
