Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen — Restaurant in Scotch Plains

UPDATED REVIEW MARCH 2023 (1 STAR) Have been going to this place for 9 years and was my favorite Popeyes on the Union/watchung area and it appears that recently the store has gone Under New Management.

And thats the problem- the manager on hand was not friendly, or courteous- In fact I found the new mansger to be rude and nasty. In fact he was insulting and rather than punching his lights out or cursing him, I calmly spoke with him. I asked the manager for his name indicating I would speak with management and he would not tell me his nane -- can you believe he took the pin with his name on it off his shirt and put it in his pocket!! Needless to say, I did not place my order and walked out - wont be returning there ever again. Can't really say much for the food anymore since I walked out of the place but I got to imagine it's got to be similar. I would imagine or think that that must be some formal training on customer relations and etiquette for fast food employees -- especially in management.

OLD REVIEW 2020 (5 STARS) Nice people that work there at the Watchung location food is usually good and hot -- one of my favorite Popeyes locations to go to... Prefer this Popeyes definitely better than the one few miles away...

This Popeyes is great! Atmosphere is chill and cool, but the staff is also really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is pretty good, tender classics and Fish sandwich, and for their prices it’s 100% worth it. Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely Popeyes in new jersey. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other Popeyes. Absolutely the best meal we had in new jersey. Highly recommend!

Normally I don’t do surveys unless my experience was really bad. My son bought chicken last night and the chicken taste like it was refried. It was dry and taste like old grease. The new staff that came during Covid needs to be retrained in cooking lessons. They also need to change their cooking oil regularly so the chicken can come out golden brown and fresh.The old staff that was there before Covid had that chicken on POINT. It was always fresh and juicy. And to prove my point this is not the first time me and my family experience this at this location. The one in Springfield NJ on Rt 22 their chicken is always fresh. This location needs to take a lesson from the Springfield location and maybe that will resolve the problem. Since Popeyes changed to this new staff the food quality is not the same because the chicken doesn’t taste like it was cooked in fresh oil. Sad for me I woke up with a really bad stomach ache this morning, not GOOD AT ALL!!! I will not be buying from this location again and I’m going to tell my friends and family not to buy from this location also so they won’t experience the...
