First Watch ... First Watch ... First Watch! What can I say? My visit on Tuesday, 7/23/24 was disappointing all the way around. This is a restaurant that I thought I loved, at least until this visit. I had not been since before the pandemic and I was excited to get back to it! Now in all fairness, it may very well be THIS location, as you have several locations now throughout the metro Atlanta area!
So let's take it from the beginning where it took more than 10 minutes to be seated. Apparently the manager took notice of what was happening because he came over to seat us. Oddly enough, this restaurant wasn't that busy or crowded! Then -- and you can't make this stuff up -- the manager walked to 3 different tables at which he could not seat us because they had not been bussed. Instead, he asked us to wait at the front while he cleaned off a table. And yeah, this was another 5 minutes.
Once we were seated, a waitress came to our table and took our beverage orders. My friend and I chatted casually and then realized that 15 minutes had gone by and our beverages had not come out. I left the table and went to the checkout desk where I asked if the manager was available. It took a minute but she was able to get him out. I explained that our beverages had not come out, we had not ordered and we needed to get this moving. Shortly after, the waitress returned with our beverages. And we placed our order. I ordered the Million Dollar bacon (one of my favorites) and it came out burnt. I ordered the classic breakfast. I asked for soft-scrambled eggs. They came out cold and hard as pebbles ready to crack a window. The potatoes were undercooked and not edible. My friend ordered soup, sandwich, and salad. The waitress forget about her soup. It arrived 10 minutes after her sandwich. She asked for extra mayonnaise. It came when she had just about finished her sandwich lol! So needless to say, we won't be coming to this location ever again! The manager did offer a small discount off of our bill, but we'd much rather have good food and decent customer service. This experience made me question what I ever saw in First Watch in the first...
Read moreIt sad to say that racism still exist in 2022. My youngest daughter normally goes to the Snellville location, but we chose this location because it was close to the cemetery. We were celebrating the birthday of our aunt who recently passed. This is the 1st birthday without her. We had a party of 10. We put our name on the list before we got there. We waited patiently. When we checked in we were told they do not accommodate large parties on the weekend and we were split up. A booth on the left and a table across from the booth on the other side of the room. Not what we wanted because it defeated the purpose of a family breakfast. So we just went with what we were told by the manager and host. I am all for if that is your rule I will respect that. The two tables cleared right next to the table that seated 4 of us. We had been seated 5 minutes prior. A party of 10 came in and the manager put the two tables together and pulled 2 chairs from another table to accommodate that party of 10 which was Caucasian (white). So when I questioned the manager he brushed me off saying we were seated in the same waitress area. He could have easily accommodated my family as he did that party. We did not have to have the same waitress b/c we were paying separately so that made no sense. We stated this before we sat down. We specifically stated we could wait so we could all sit together. So if they do not accommodate large parties make it make sense to me. So my family & I decided we would not tolerate this type of treatment. Since we had not been served our food and just got our drinks that we did not drink we decided to leave. Thank God my daughter experience at the Snellville location has been nothing, but awesome. Maybe they can show the Decatur location how to treat all humans no matter the color of their skin color and some customer...
Read moreMy friend knew of this restaurant from Florida and was excited to share it with me. I am a big fan of breakfast places so was also looking forward to it. Unfortunately, I can't say I would recommend this restaurant to anyone - there were several avoidable flaws in the experience. We arrived at about 11 on a Sunday morning and were put on a a 30-minute wait list, which is entirely reasonable. After 45 minutes I checked back and was told we were a few people down the list (by now I'm pretty hungry). We were finally sat and waited good 5 minutes before anyone came over. The waitress poured me a half cup of coffee because the spout was pouring slowly (they leave the pot at the table so from there on we had this crappy pot to pour from) and after another 15 minutes, took our order. Despite saying that we were 'up next' (I don't believe she checked on this before telling us) tables who were seated after us were served before us and when our food finally did come, some 40 minutes later, it wasn't hot or correct - but by then I was about to eat my arm so I ate it anyway. When she finally checked on us after serving our food I mentioned my order wasn't correct and she offered to bring me a side of the cheese that was supposed to be in my omelette (???) which was by that point, 2/3 eaten. I've been a waitress and I know how hectic things can get. They need to tighten things up - from the wait-list/seating process to the server training/communication/problem response tactics to the kitchen getting orders right. The menu was nicely put together and I may try it again, but my first time there definitely didn't make a good impression.
Edit: Continue to disappoint - I followed up per the 'Response from owner' and have heard nothing since...
