This is a tough one because I like the food, but it is so inconsistent. When MOD first opened, it was very good, but it has gone downhill since then. I have only eaten inside of MOD twice, and that was when it was newer. Then, the place was clean, busy, and staff was friendly. However, they have ALWAYS been inconsistent. I have placed so many takeout orders that ended up missing a requested topping. Having said that, the food was still good. You can get all of the toppings you want, and the price is the same. Also, the crust is good. Whatever their receipe is, which I am guessing is not something made fresh by the staff daily (judging based on the staff). Unless they burn it, or put something you can't stand on it, the dough will be good.
Now, as I said, the place has gone downhill. I don't know who the owner is, or if there is ever a manager there. It is like it is being run by teenagers/very young adults. They are always running behind. I ordered two pizzas and a salad that were supposed to be ready to pick up in 20 minutes. We gave them 30, and still waited.
There were things missing. The garlic my husband ordered was not on his pizza, but we did not regret that. They did put it on mine, but it was not spread out. It was just like chunks of garlic around the crust only. Since the option was included in the sauce selection, we expected it to be spread around with the sauce. They were also out of the pesto drizzle, but actually wrote a note saying that. This was a first. I have not received a topping, especially that drizzle selection, about 50% of the times I have orderd from here. So, that was kind of nice.
The reason I am giving them a 3 is because the food is actually decent, and the price is right. I can get two of the medium sized pizzas and a salad for $30. This would be just as much, with an upcharge for every topping option at any fast food pizza chain. And yes, I DO consider this fast food pizza. This is a chain, and it is not upscale. It is not cool, trendy, hipster, fresher, higher quality, or modern. It is simply a different style and newer version of fast food pizza.
The sad part is that because this is like a fast food pizza chain, I expect it to be lower quality. I expect bad customer service, lazy (and probably younger) workers, longer wait times, and missing toppings. I do not think that it is okay that I expect that, but it is the truth. I would still rather have the pizza from MOD versus another chain because I am not paying an arm and...
Read moreIt’s Saturday 4/19/25 ~7:40pm, I came to this location and it is truly atrocious how service has plummeted since the last time I was here. I don’t know where to start but upon entering I see one young lady sweeping with no gloves on and the other guy was on his phone and when he wasn’t on his phone he had his back to the customers facing the oven/fireplace. The young girl locked eyes with me so I thought ok any moment she is going to greet us and ask if we were ready to order but instead she went to the register and got on her phone. After 4 to 5 minutes of just standing there, I asked her “excuse me ma’am is there someone who can take our order (mind you they were both on their phones) and she looked up at me with anger and disgust and proceeded to say “when someone is ready to take your order they will come up to you!” and she gave me this disgusting attitude and smirk as she looked away and turned her back to me and the people behind me. The other guy who was by the fire pit did not even move. It was not until this one young man with glasses who had common decency and common sense came up to assist us with our order (which thank god for him because the girl rubbed her nose did not even wash her hands after sweeping or rubbing her nose more than once, please check the camera I am not lying ) I feel bad for the customer behind me because she was the one making the pizza for her. Management needs to do better with their training and hiring of employees because I see that all the negative reviews are mainly about the service and the way customers are treated by young employees who do not have manners, patience, or common sense. I get everyone is going through something we don’t know about but it’s no excuse for you to be disrespectful and rude to a customer who had nothing but patience because I work in customer service too and I would never treat a client like that. I urge management to make a change because this is so pitiful her behavior is...
Read moreShort version: We waited 1 hour for our pizza, just to be told that we would have to get back in line to reorder. We left hungry after asking for a refund.
Long version: We waited in line, which was fine, except that when it was our turn to order, the manager put 7 online pizzas in front of us. So we waited some more. We told the staff that we understand and were patient. When it came our turn to order, they had run out of numbers to mark the pizzas. Red flag, especially with so many orders in front of us, but we trusted that the orders would be ok. Our name was called quickly, which was a pleasant surprise, except that the pizzas were totally wrong. We were not the only customers with wrong orders. There were many customers shaking their heads bringing their orders back to the counter. The manager eventually called for a free-for-all, asking customers to point out their orders. I was at the counter and did not see either of our pizzas. My husband and I are vegetarian, and I do not want to choose an incorrect order. We waited a little while longer because there were still some orders in the oven, but no luck. Our pizzas must have made it into someone else's box.... sadness. The manager then told us that we would have to get back in line to reorder. The staff at the front of the line was again calling out that they were in need of numbers. We learned our lesson the first time and did not want to lose our pizzas in another unidentified frenzy, so we asked for a refund and left. We are repeat Mod customers, and have never before encountered such unorganized and unfriendly staff. I understand that everyone is short staffed right now, but there were at least 10 staff behind the counter -- enough to get the job done right. We are disappointed, and questioning if we'll ever go...
