I had a terrible experience at the Moes on Church Street across from Emory in Decatur today. If I could give zero stars I would. It was my first visit there. I came in and first of all the kitchen didn't seem as clean as it could've been which is the first reason not to eat here since we are still dealing with COVID-19. My fault for not leaving. I ordered the chicken burrito but I asked the young lady who helped me to make it in a bowl so it didn't get soggy on the shell and so I could eat it later since I was on my to work on a 12 hour shift. I also asked that the lettuce and cold toppings go in a separate container for the same reason. At no point in my interactions with the two employees was I told that there was any problem with my order. When I got up to the register the older white man who I assume was the manger or owner from his demeanor paused and looked at my food and said wait, ALL this is one meal? ALL of this is one meal? I asked him was there a problem. He said oh I don't have a problem and started to ring me up. A meal that should have been $8 plus tax with queso so all together no more than $12 was now over $18. I asked him why is it so expensive? $ 1 per taco shell sour cream is extra etc? I'm used to Chipotle where none of this is an issue except guac and queso. I explained to him that I told her I wanted the burrito but the shell on the side but I never asked for extra food. That is a conversation for his employees if they weren't able to accommodate me, that needs to be communicated. He made me feel as if I had tried to do something dishonest when clearly it was a error on Moes part. I also felt that he was speaking and dealing with me in a way that was in thinly veiled hostility and anger. After I spoke to him briefly about the prices and costs for add-ons I paid and said none of this is a problem at Chipotle, next time I'll go there. He said "that would be great". I was not valued as a customer obviously. I had just spend over $14 in his business when I have so many options of where to buy dinner and you outright tell me that my patronage is not valued by you. I majorly regret not walking away and leaving him with a product that he had to throw away. Ultimately it's his loss and Moes loss because I have already told a dozen of my coworkers how I have been treated and humiliated over a burrito bowl and I promise I will tell as many people as possible of this incident. I will also be contacting Moes corporate headquarters over this situation. #Black...
Read moreSo we took the family to Moe's today the food was great as usual. We love the place and really enjoy the kids eating free on Saturday. Today is Sunday amd the guacamole was not that great but that's not the main reason for the low rating. While checking out with my whopping $30 purchase I asked a person, who I think is at least a shift manager, at the very least," How do I use my debit card has a credit card?" There was no response. So I ask the question again," what button do I push to use my debit card as a credit card?" With a smirk on his face he shrugs his shoulders like that was very appropriate.
Not deterred I decided to push the red button and it worked and once I relayed to him that you use the red button to complete the credit transactions without entering a pin. He replied," I was told not to tell you that."
Now things look like they're going pretty good at this Decatur Georgia location of Moe's and I don't know exactly what the charges are on a credit card transaction for them but I do know that percentage is higher than the percentage for a debit card transaction. However how can customer service be allowed to drop so low that you will not allow people to protect their personal information number from whatever. In most stores that you go to and there are cameras that will record you entering your PIN. As a form of personal security, I do not use my PIN unless I send a text the location of my credit union using the ATM, outside of that, it's not necessary for me to use that information in public. I would not be surprised if patrons at this location are having their pin number recorded and their dedit card information captured in the back. I may sound paranoid but let's not act like that that's not happening every day. Moe's management or franchise owner, you should be ashamed of yourself and you have to do better. I will be passing this information along to Visa because I sure as hell know they will not feel great about you cheating them out of their money to the displeasure of their...
Read moreI am so emotional about the service I received at this establishment today for lunch. First of all I frequent this Moe's on a regular basis because I work right across the street at Emory Decatur Hospital. Today my co-workers and I decided to eat Moe's. I was chosen to be the designated walker to get the food. When I walked in the atmosphere was not as friendly as it normally is. But I ordered the separate orders of Queso (2 sides and a cup) I also ordered a kids meal with a side of Queso. I explained to the cashier that I wanted to pay separate. The manager Jamie then walks up and says "it dont make any sense how you people make things so difficult". My response was who are you talking to like that. He then stated " you could have just made one transaction instead of 3 or 4". I was so upset at this point that I said if I had 10 transactions as a paying customer that should not be a problem. I was literally in tears when I left because I was so angry with the customer service I had received. I realized that I had forgot my drink and cookie that goes with the kids meal. When I went back to get it. the manager Jamie said kids meals are for 12 and under. I said you dont know who I am purchasing for first of all. But I was able to pay for the kids meal, I want my drink and cookie that goes with it. The cashier (dont know his name) then ruffly gave me the cup and continue to state that kids meals are for kids 12 and under. As I proceeded out the door, I asked one of the workers what was the manager's name she said Jamie. Jamie then turns in a tawnting voice and says "call corporate, so what!"
I am so hurt by the service I received today. Only because I go there so often.
I would like something to be done about this. I would like to get some type of feedback regarding this matter.
Thank you.
