LAS VII AMERICAS — Restaurant in Scottsbluff

This rating needs to be explained and I have conflicting thoughts between products and service. So here's my best explanation:

1- Tortillas= *5 Stars- Absolutely Fantastic

2- Food that we were served- *1 Star--

Overpriced for quality, terribly prepared, and dreadful.

I ordered Huevos Rancheros, my girlfriend ordered a breakfast platter that was supposed to be the house specialty. Our sides of potatoes and beans were refrigerator cold and the potatoes were still frozen in the middle. My eggs were not cooked to order, over medium. My eggs were still very much on the undercooked side. The whites were still partially raw. Her eggs (scrambled) were burned. Which leads to the next rating

3- Service- *1 Star-

Conflicted about this and here's why. It's obvious no one quality checked the food product going out from BOH to FOH. (Or worse no one cares) Our server acted as if they didn't understand much English and I speak enough Spanish to make it through the small talk and the food order. Either way we were unable to fix the problem with our food, but still expected to pay for food we didn't eat. So who's to blame here? Me, because I went to a Mexican restaurant and couldn't vocalize my problem in a way they could understand? Or the restaurant for putting a server in place that couldn't clearly communicate with the patrons that are representative of the market it serves?

BOTTOM LINE OF THIS REVIEW: BUY THE TORTILLAS, SMILE AND LEAVE.

This is the first time I've actually been to the place myself. Boy, am I glad I did! The atmosphere is wonderful, the people and service is excellent! Very friendly and helpful, and quick to respond to a request. Couldn't ask for better! My sons had always gone and gotten the meats (oh my gosh yummmm!), and tortillas (wouldn't have any other kind!), but had never really told me about the restaurant, the little secret keepers! Well, I found it! The menu alone! Such a variety, and each dish, if the menu doesn't explain it well enough, the wait staff is more than happy to help. The food is delicious, cooked to absolute perfection! I am SO glad I stopped in there, and will be doing so on a regular basis I know! Oh, further down it asks which dishes I could recommend, I didn't have any of those myself, but I am sure they are all wonderful! I had a fish plate! And I gotta say, not many people can cook fish to the perfection that...

I had never visited this restaurant until recently. And it just makes me sad to think I could have been having such delicious Mexican food all these years. Came here with my grandma for a birthday lunch but ended up ordering breakfast. It was so good and hit the spot. Very authentic tasting food. Beans were flavorful and had good texture. Plate came with torts on the side like almost all Mexican dishes should. Got more than our money’s worth in portion size and the service was good. Keep in mind the parking lot is a bit small with not many spots. Besides that this was some of the best food I’ve eaten at a restaurant in awhile and I’m excited to try other items on the menu in the future. Would highly recommend everyone give this...
