Wish I could give 4.5 stars, cuz while I reserve my 5 stars for "blown away" type experiences, Butterfields is worth more than the 4 stars.
Because everything was so fantastic, I'll start with the only thing that was not good. Our table shared/sampled everything and had same opinions. We ordered sides of sausage links, biscuits & gravy, and grits. While the links were great, we wouldn't order the other two items again. The grits were a weird texture, kind of like a not-fully-cooked rice pudding with a greasy cream. We like to add Tabasco, sugar, & a lil butter to our grits, but even that couldn't save the day. The biscuits felt amazing in texture with slight crisp to outside with a moist flaky interior, but the gravy was gross. Very salty and kind of like someone added a bit too much fake liquid smoke.
As for the entrees: Baked Potato Omelette added ham & jalapeno (.25 each addition, super cool) and a Veggie Omelette (added double salmon, also just .25 each!). Omelettes came with hash browns which we loved. They shave the potatoe and it comes out with all of these flavorful crispy brown edges. They also came with pancakes that we upgraded to specialty ones. OhMYGOODnESS! One was the cinnamon roll, the other was the apple cinnmon pecan caramel...on their own they were great, put them together and they were INcreDible! I meant to suggest that they put that combo on the menu, but I forgot - I will next time, because I will most definitely be back!
Our server, Stan was also great. He didn't introduce himself, but I made sure to check our receipt so that I could give him yelper kudos for a job well done. Coffee and waters were always full (small creamer cups were too). I saw teamwork amongst servers and busperson which I love to see. I was a server for a long time so I am kind of a stickler. A place can have amazing food but if service sucks, I don't usually return. Butterfields will always be high on my recommendation list for anyone looking. While I plan to try all of what looks amazing from their menu, I'm excited to return for one of their oven baked pancakes. As we were leaving, the table next to us had theirs arrive- the smell alone was heavenly & they...

Butterfield's menu goes beyond just pancakes. Their extensive selection features a variety of breakfast and brunch classics, from omelets to Benedicts and everything in between. The quality and freshness of their ingredients are evident in every dish they serve. And if you're in the mood for something savory, their corned beef hash is a must-try.

Read more2/22/25: Short version - fairly extensive menu, friendly service, heat lamps, decent prices, food came out hot & pretty quickly considering how busy it was.
Long version - last weekend we tried to hit their sister location (Butters Pancakes) but saw a very large group of people waiting outside. That tells me they are good, but we were too hungry to wait. This particular Saturday we tried Butterfields, hoping if we got there early enough the wait wouldn't be long.
It wasn't, maybe about 10 minutes. We opted to sit on the patio, which was well shaded, and we were directly under a heat lamp. This Phoenician is so wimpy when it comes to being chilly, the lamps were great. It looked like they had misters, too, for our brutal summers.
Our server, Sara, came over quickly simply to check on our drink choices. She returned quickly w/ them and took our order. The patio was busy but despite this, Sara checked back w/ us plenty of times.
My sister enjoyed her baked potato omelet (it was huge) and I enjoyed the berry bliss crepes, although I do wish they had a bit more berries (either on the side, or mixed in w/ the vanilla mascarpone; they weren't very filling). I ordered a side of grits since they did not have a cinnamon roll (only a pancake and French toast option). The grits were good but I would say they had been sitting out for awhile, based on the film on top.
The patio had one young gentleman bussing tables. I did not get his name, but damn, was he good! When people left their tables, he jumped in immediately to get them cleared & set up for the next group. We set our dishes aside & he swooped in to get them off the table. Another table dropped a glass on the floor & he was there within seconds w/ a broom.
Will we visit again? Most assuredly, if only to try their lunch...
