I went to order my favorite thing from this restaurant (Katsu Ramen bowl) Just to find out, it was removed from all online ordering platforms.
When I called and inquired if I could place an order over the phone I was informed that clever Ramen does not accept phone orders.
When I pressed on and asked how I could order this since I wasn’t going to be the one picking it up and my buddy was going to grab it on the way home I was informed there would be no other option that I would have to come into the store in order. Unfortunately, for me, this is not an option.
I asked for the general managers/manageds contact information so I could email them to ask if this was going to come back to the menu and I was provided an email that is not active and was returned.
I’m very sad and disappointed in this, and I really hope that clever Ramen reconsiders adding this to their menu. I’m a weekly customer and I would happily continue to If they brought this back or offered me an option to order online/over the phone! I enjoy this blissful dish, However, I am disappointed by the service I...
Read moreLive VERY close, and am a huge fan of Clever Koi in central Phoenix and also a huge ramen fan, so had high hopes. I've been there 4 times in the two weeks since the soft open.
Steamed buns, both Korean BBQ and pork belly, have been pretty good (Though the Korean BBQ seemed a bit too saucy...). I've had the Krazy Fries twice, and really enjoy them.
For Ramen, I've had the kimchi ramen twice. Both times has been quite good! My son and daughter have both had the pork ramen, and both liked it. Someone made a comment in their review regarding it being pricey to order extra broth, and that is the only real negative critique that I would echo. The first time we went, we all made the comment that it seemed there wasn't much broth. The next time I asked for extra broth (take out order), and was charged over $3 extra for that.
Overall, I like Clever Ramen. I'll still likely hit my other favorite place on occasion because I'm addicted to their curry ramen, but it's nice to have this place...
Read moreAs a big fan of Clever Koi, I was disappointed.
We ordered one of each bao, and the pork ramen.
The cauliflower and chicken bao were great, but the pork belly bao was just okay. The pork was definitely overcooked and not even slightly soft.
The pork ramen was not good at all. The broth was a mostly flavorless muddle with hints of the mushroom seeping into it. The mushrooms themselves were plain, and button mushrooms don't really fit in (and beech mushrooms are clearly pictured on their website, so that felt deceptive). The pork was, again, way overcooked and very chewy. The ramen was flabby, and had absolutely no chew, like it's been soaking for hours. The bean sprouts and scallions were forgettable and hardly fresh. The egg was, however, perfect in every way and the best I've had outside of Japan.
I hope they completely rework all of the ingredients in their ramen.
For eco-friendly folks: the utensils for dine-in are unfortunately plastic and automatically included with the...
