Fellow Osteria: A Modern Italian Oasis in Scottsdale
Nicholas Campisano and Joshua James, the team behind Clever Koi and Across the Pond), have brought their culinary journey full circle with Fellow.
This modern, minimalist Italian experience is driven by the expertise of Ligurian chef Claudio Urciuoli. Urciuoli has garnered a stellar reputation at renowned restaurants like Taggia, Chris Bianco's Italian Restaurant, Noca, and Noble Eatery.
The spirit of openness extends beyond the menu to the restaurant's design. Local Studio's Brian Stark has crafted a modern yet comfortable space, featuring soaring ceilings and massive windows that blur the lines between the restaurant and the surrounding neighborhood. This creates a welcoming and airy atmosphere,.
The menu at Fellow Osteria focuses on fresh, seasonal ingredients with a modern twist.
Fare Expeditions Picks: Ravioli: plump pillows of pasta filled scallop and shrimp, bathed in a light and flavorful lemon cream sauce. Sun-dried tomatoes add a touch of sweetness, while crispy capers provide a textural contrast and a burst of briny flavor. A touch of chili oil adds a subtle kick.
Pesto: This dish takes pesto to a new level. Here, the pesto is tossed with caserecci pasta for a satisfyingly toothsome bite. Sweet and juicy heirloom tomatoes burst with summery flavor, while toasted pine nuts add a touch of richness, bursting with fresh basil.
Burrata: Vegetarians will delight in this dish. Creamy burrata cheese is served atop a bed of caramelized and slightly sweet roasted squash. Sage pesto adds a savory and herbal note, while toasted pepitas bring a welcome crunch. For a surprising pop of sweet and tart, the dish is finished with a touch of cranberry agrodolce.

Read moreVery disappointing! So wanted to love this cute restaurant. First time visiting tonight with my wife. Very cool/hip interior, good lighting. The food however is exceedingly mediocre- this is not a big league hot spot and we are unlikely to return. Having read all the breathless raves here we expected something special. But that was far from the case.
We ordered a basic Margherita - ordered WEEL DONE (which our very nice waitress even repeated. We were served an underdone, over cheesed plate of what tasted like soft play dough, with too much sauce (and the sauce was only decent).
This is no POMO. This is no Bianco. This is no CIBO. Not by a mile.
The friendly manager took the pizza back and 10 min later we got our well done pizza. But it was only somewhat better - dough lacked complexity, just a mediocre pizza. I also ordered the Tagliatelle Bolognese which our waitress said was the most popular (home made) pasta that they make. The pasta arrived badly under-cooked, not even close to al-dente... but rather more like crispy cardboard strands with a totally tastelessly bland meat sauce which needed some salt. I sent it back, and the next batch was cooked right (al-dente) but the sauce still lacked depth and flavor. Mediocre.
We also had a basic salad to start. Meh - it was fine.
The manager knew we had a rough night - he was very apologetic and gave us 2 free cannolis to go + comped the $11 pizza + gave us a $10 off for the next visit. Very pro. But folks - there are SO MANY great foodie options in Phoenix now. Why would we come back here?...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I used to frequent Fellow as our go-to date spot, I used to recommend it to my friends, but after this last experience I can’t say that we’ll be back. We made a reservation for 3:15 today (although unneeded as there was only 1 other table sat and only 2 patrons at the bar), and when we walked in we stood ungreeted for a few minutes before we were finally taken to a table. Once we sat down we immediately put in our appetizer, and asked for a couple minutes to figure out our drinks. 15 whole minutes went by before someone (the bartender, not our server that sat us and took our app order) came back over and asked if we were ready to put in our entrees, our appetizer had already come out, like what happened to drinks? We put in our drink and entree orders and surprise surprise, another almost 15 minutes before our drinks came out, we had to ask our server to check on them. 2 minutes after finally receiving our first cocktails, we got our food, not bad just not the great quality that we are used to. We asked for the check next time he came around and after tipping both the server and bartender stared us both down as we got into our car to leave, seemed like they weren’t happy with the tip that reflected their poor service. We wanted dessert and another drink but didn’t think it was worth it to wait around anymore, we went across the street to Fate Brewing instead. You lost two...
