UPDATED REVIEW 12/10/22 Planning all week to go watch soccer and eat salt and vinegar wings today. This is the first time we had been when an owner wasn't there and it was obvious. Took 20 minutes and a manager to turn on a heater because they're the only ones allowed to do it, we were told?!
The wings tasted like they just had cornstarch and no salt or vinegar. We both ordered the same and only one of my wings tasted kind of like salt. The bartenders weren't super busy but didn't make it easy to get their attention so we just dealt with it. Really disappointing.
My hubby got cold so I tried to turn the heater up a little bit (because it would have taken 20 more minutes to get a manager to help) and I accidentally turned it 0ff. I told a passing waitress and she got a manager to come turn it back on about 10 minutes later. This is when we decided we don't need to come back.
Rather than just saying, "I'll get this turned back on for you...let me know if it's okay now." The manager decided she needed to lecture me on not touching their stuff. We were totally checked out after that. I'm not 10 years old and don't need to be talked to like a child. So, we left with beer left in our glasses and $70 less in our wallet. A pricey lesson.

Have been here a few times before and after 2020. Went a few weeks ago for brunch/football and had a fantastic bartender/server. I appreciated that she let us taste a couple things before committing. The rose was great and my husband loved the apricot spritz sour ale. I also tasted the Dash Hazy IPA, which scored a 3.75 on my Untappd :-)
If you're a meat eater, the French Dip is a winner. A few years ago, we were told to get it with pepperjack and that's how my husband always orders it.
The inside was chilly (AZ thins your blood) so we sat outside and were quite comfy, even in 100+ because it was shady and the misters were running!
One of the owners came to check on us and thank us for joining them for brunch. Active owners are always a plus!
Really friendly atmosphere and we enjoy our experience more every time.
Thanks for a great time!...
Read moreOn 11/13 our family of 13 went to Fate. We had a reservation for the patio for 1:30. We had a mix of "really young" seniors (us), our hipster kids and their kids 14 yrs to 19 months. We were told our table wasn't ready because the current customers, although they'd already paid and the table had been cleaned, did not leave. At some point it was offered to seat us indoors. With small kids and a noisy dining room with a football game on, that wasn't really an option. After almost a half hour of waiting, I asked if a manager couldn't politely comment to the customers that a large party had a reservation and would they like to move to the benches to continue their conversation. They couldn't see us all standing there with a shrub in between. I feel certain they wouldn't have been jerks. I'm guessing they genuinely thought it wasn't "crowded" because it wasn't, unless you need three tables together. The woman at the desk said they couldn't. Not too long after that, they finally left but we had been left to wait for 35 minutes only because no one would approach the customers and let them know the situation. There was a verbal apology, but no offer to comp even an appetizer. By this time it had gotten windier and chillier. That's obviously not Fate's fault, but it became really unpleasant that the food got cold fast. If we'd been seated on time, the weather was better. To be fair, many menu items were good. Nacho much the nachos. They had most of the cheese on the bottom and very little chili. Hubs isn't a steak or chicken fan. It was picked at but mostly left on the plate. I'll hesitate before I choose this place again given the myriad options down...
Read moreIt saddens me to write this as Fate is just down the street from me and historically I’ve had pleasant enough experiences, but my recent visit was unacceptable and totally turns me off. I should have known to turnaround when it took 10 minutes just for the hostess to acknowledge our presence and seat us (it wasn’t busy/peak time) and another 10 for a server to stop by, but that was just getting started.
Per State Laws, restaurants can only use pasteurized dairy products, but as I am pregnant I like to ask and confirm for a peace of mind. Here, when I asked, my server simply stated she had no idea and I had to ask her to go ask. When she returned she stated the cheese was not pasteurized, which mind you is illegal if true, so she very likely did not bother to actually ask/check. Due to this “unpasteurized cheese” my burger only had 2 toppings on it, and it still came out incorrect!! When I returned it I was told “no worries”, as if it was my mistake I was apologizing for. Then, it was clear all they did was wipe off the topping I did not order instead of remaking it like any respectable place. They are lucky it wasn’t an allergy issue, and by the time they returned it the burger was completely cold and meh.
The cherry on top…all the flies!!! Soo many flies! Literally couldn’t even eat half my meal because between bites multiple flies would land on our food…so gross. Every step along the way was a disappointment, so I will not be back...
