Ignore the bad reviews. I’ve been going here for over a decade. I’ve had Los Favs, most of the ‘bertos, the “you have to try this” Mexican food restaurants that everyone swears has the best fundido, and whatever or wherever you’re about to say in your head “has the best breakfast burrito.”
Look, everyone has their own preferences when it comes to hole-in-the-wall local southwestern Mexican food. Everyone is entitled to say “that’s not real mexican food” even though it’s not the point when judging tastiness. But you’re reading these reviews, hoping either to find bad ones that deter you from making an eating decision that might be your one cheat meal of the week, or narrow down the near infinite number of choices for local cuisine to grab during your short stay in Arizona. So, here’s this: no visitor I’ve ever taken to— or referred to— Fiesta Burrito had ever not enjoyed it. Is it the absolute best in the valley? Subjective. Has their quality ever changed? No. I promise you, it has not.
Is it the cleanest looking inside and out? No. It looks like it hasn’t been updated since the early 90’s. But you’re not going here for its looks. You’re going for a big, hot burrito.
Is the service the best? No. They’re not there to be your best friend and work for tips. They’re there to make your food as fast as possible so you can have a big, hot burrito.
Is the food going to be memorable? No, because you’re probably not looking to have a big memorable burrito experience. You’re just here for a big, hot burrito.
My advice: if it’s you’re first time here, get something that you usually get elsewhere. Don’t get weird with it. Don’t start customizing it like you’re at Taco Bell. Just don’t. Maybe it’ll turn out great, but maybe not. These menus are constructed purposefully. Your best bet is to order something that has a picture IF you’ve never been here.
Otherwise, just get a breakfast burrito.
And, finally, yes, everyone gets it: prices have increased. Everywhere. Rest assured, that money isn’t going into the building to make it modernized and bougie. Nor is the money going into expanding operations and opening up more locations. Ingredients are more expensive right now.
Still, you’re getting a lot of food for your dollar here. Piping hot food. Food that looks nearly identical to other Mexican food spots, but isn’t quite the same in taste. Food that you could make at home, maybe, but that would be an inconvenience. You’re here for the convenience. And a big,...
Read moreGreat food for a decent price. The portions I've received are good portion sizes. It's similar to Filibertos but is much much better in my opinion. I ordered the Carne Asada burrito and it was very good. While I have had bigger burritos I have also had much much smaller burritos as well, all for the same price. The Carne Asada meat was quite good and not too fatty. My Fiance got the Chicken quesadilla and it was really good. The chicken was shredded and was tender and not dry at all. The quesadilla was a great portion size. I also tried the rice and the rice was on point. I went there for the first time about 5 days ago and just went back again yesterday because it was so good. Also I am surrounded by Mexican food but chose to go back there. Really the only negative thing I could say was that the 2nd time we went, we ordered 1 chicken quesadilla to share and it was very greasy to the point we couldn't pick it up without having to use 100 napkins. It still tasted vary good but was dripping literally. Will be going back, hoping next time they hold back on some of...
Read moreI look forward to the days I'm on this side of town quite specifically for this burrito stop. These guys make arguably some of the best burritos in town. With powerful combinations of fresh ingrediants and damn talented cooks and staff, this location never ceases to impress. Often times I'll see the owner when I visit in the mornings, and never have I been met with poor service or lackluster quality food. If I have any questions at all, it would be how the heck they stay in business with the size of the portions and quality of food they provide. 10/5 stars, I doubt I'll be sharing my patronage with any other 'fast food' in the area.
Why would I need to when these amazing folks provide restaraunt quality in fast food time?
Bravo, Fiesta, I send all of my friends to you and I'll be there every week until my doctor tells me to lay off the burritos. (I'll still...
