Einstein Bros. Bagels — Restaurant in Scottsdale

Wow! $25.00 just got me two of the driest bagel sandwiches, along with a sugary syrup drink disquised as a strawberrry/banana smoothie. I am so disappointed as it was my first time ever eating at this place. I can't believe the smoothies are made with just Ice and flavored sugar syrup. It's no wonder americans are sitting at over 60% diabetes. On a positive note, the service was nice and the environment super clean which I like seeing in a restaurant, but the sandwiches lacked flavor and substance, the bacon was razor thin and look to be only a half a strip of bacon. All I tasted was bread and salt. I thought they would be served with a chipotle sauce, perhaps that would have moisten the dry, day old tasting bagel. Too bad, as I would have gone back based on the service. Arizona needs to do better with food grading these restaurants. This town lacks quality food on almost every level, from grocery stores to eat in and fast food restaurants. It has become quite the chore to find good quality food with a consistency; especially in Scottsdale. Oh well another chunk of cash thrown into the garbage and sink full of sugar syrup. This was quite possibly the dumbest situation...and person. $11.99 gets you 6 bagels plus a cream cheese tub. I ordered and asked if they would please toast 3 of the bagels. She said with a straight face, "I can't, its against company policy?"

I said, "what? Its against policy to toast bagels at a bagel place?" She says, "yes, it takes too long when you order a box." So I said, "Yeah but I only want three toasted..."

So, then I had to cancel my order, and order 3 bagels alone and the tub of cheese which came out to $12, then another 3 bagels as is, for $2 each.

Since they toasted the 3, it took the same amount of "time" and in the end just cost me more?

Honestly I will never set foot again at this place. This kind of corporate bs is frustrating. If I had asked for all 6 toasted-- I get it.

We ordered 4 bagels through the DoorDash app at 9:53 AM, the app stated it would be ready at 10:10 AM. My husband went out to pick them up. He arrived at the store with at least 15 people waiting on orders, not including the line of people waiting to order. He understood they were busy and waited. Then after about 30 minutes past the time our order was scheduled to be ordered. He went and inquired about our order the staff member stated “we are working as fast as we can”. Again, he understood and had to ask 4 times about our order. He continued to wait, he watched multiple customers walk out and the 3 staff members were in the back the entire time.
