First off, beware of the high ratings. The Lincoln waves application fees if you leave an online review at move in. Only an interior pool facing top level unit should possibly warrant consideration. Floors are extremely thin and I had a neighbor below complain to me that I was walking too loudly (I'm 185 pounds and was in rubber sandals at the time of his confrontation). Apartments are small but in decent condition, however I had bedroom ceiling water leak, refrigerator water filter that needed changing, and a dirty bathtub all at move in. The contacts at the front desk are friendly and helpful, however upper management is horrible and often requires multiple follow up attempts to get a response. I even had to follow up with the regional manager of the property management group when the office manager would not respond after a week. The RM response was that the office manager thought she already followed up - not the professionalism you expect or are paying for. This was during a period where the property office was closed and no new business was being conducted - still not sure what kept her too busy to respond to emails. Also you WILL be charged for professional carpet cleaning fees out of your deposit. Despite living there for only 5 months, I was told this is a standard fee despite no stains or damage ($70 for my small bedroom, though I was originally told by management that $90 is the average cost of this service). Mind you this professional cleaning charge is not explicitly stated anywhere in the contract. They also originally charged me $50 for the refrigerator water filter once again stating this is a standard fee even though I needed mine replaced at move in. Thankfully this was actually reversed after repeated attempts to fight this ridiculous expense, however the exorbitant professional carpet cleaning and other dubious charges remained. In the end I was charged $125 despite leaving the apartment in better condition than when I originally took possession. Spending hours cleaning my well kept apartment only to receive charges was a slap in the face.
The worst part was that I was repeatedly denied a walkthrough prior to my move out. The rationale was to limit contact in the apartment during the pandemic. While that makes sense on the surface, keep in mind management brought in a cleaning crew for the bedroom carpet. They also delivered bottles of cheap wine to each unit days later. I'm still not entirely sure how management denied a walk through citing safety concerns but made these two choices to invite even more contact.
Ultimately you might not mind living there under certain circumstances - top floor, interior pool view to avoid the exterior street noise, and have a willingness to unnecessarily throw much of your deposit away. Otherwise expect to move out with a bad taste in your mouth.
Update: The Lincoln management responded to my original review with a generic "we're constantly improving" response TEN MONTHS after my post. Don't give these...
Read moreI have been a resident at Lincoln Scottsdale Apartments for over three years, spending about one-third of the year here. Unfortunately, my experience with the management, especially Matt, has been an absolute nightmare.
While I was away, they decided to power wash the parking garage and towed my 1971 Corvette to an uncovered guest parking area. This car has a $20,000 paint job, and they left it exposed to the sun and elements without any notification or courtesy call. Upon my return, I found my car in a significantly worse condition.
The management knew full well how damaging the sun and elements would be to my car, and they knew I would be furious upon discovering this negligence. Despite several neighbors expressing their concerns to the management, nothing was done to address the issue. Their response was essentially that the apartment complex is too big for them to care about each individual resident, even though they were fully aware of the damage taking place to my car. This level of neglect and lack of communication is beyond infuriating.
Meanwhile, management has zero issues calling each and every tenant to demand payment and putting an eviction notice on their door if they are even slightly behind on their monthly rent. But when it comes to taking responsibility for endangering tenant property? They couldnât care less. These are the kind of management practices you can expect at Lincoln Scottsdale.
Until they take responsibility and cover the cost of detailing and buffing my car, I will continue to post a one-star review daily. I hope this will draw attention to their atrocious management practices and lead to necessary...
Read moreDonât recommend. âLuxury living at the Lincolnâ is definitely not luxurious. When we moved in the place was not cleaned. Under all the sinks and in all the drawers there was massive product stains and my shower had black marks on the floor. Maintenance requests never get done or you have to submit it 6 times before they even answer you. On an emergency call for our AC going out in the middle of summer I was ignored and then told the next day that they got my call and ignored it because it wasnât important enough and wasnât reported when they had come in earlier to do an apartment inspection. I wasnât home I was at work during their inspection. Rude customer service and they nickel and dime you on everything. The blinds were slightly bent when we moved in and I didnât mention it on the report because I didnât think it was an issue and had reported every scratch in the place. We got charged for it on moving out even though we did a walk through inspection prior and weâre told everything looked great and we would get our full deposit back. Pool was closed down for over 3 months for maintenance when they said it would only be 6-8 weeks. Pool and area looked identical to how it looked before they shut it down for 3 months even though they promised un upgraded pool and spa and said we would love the new amenities đ§ over all disappointed. I know apartments donât really care about tenants because renting is in such high demand with the current housing market but Iâve rented several other places and never had these...
