FIRSTLY... this is the first place in my years of eating Pho that has a weekend 50% off Pho lunch special. I don't know how long it will last but it's practically unheard of in the "pho industry".
I ordered 2 bowls... the filet mignon and the rare beef.
PORTION 5/5 - this place on the weekend as long as the special is on... is easily a 5/5. If I had to pay full price, the honest score for portion would drop to a 3.5/5. But given that pho fans usually frequent a few different spots I have no issue with the 5/5 rating with the weekend special.
NOODLES 3.5/5 - Not a lot of noodles compared to most other places and a bit over cooked.
ONION 5/5 = the proper amount of onions here.
MEAT 4.5/5 - The meat is of high quality but could have a few more pieces. But high quality and tender.
BROTH 4.5/5 - Not elite level broth as something is missing... probably cinnamon it's hard to say. But... this is likely the best broth I've had in Phoenix so far. Very flavorful!
Overall PHO Score - 22.5/25. 5 star Google review.
FINAL THOUGHTS - This is so far the best Pho place in Phoenix I've found while here. I'll try other places when I return in a month but I've tried several others. This Pho is easily worth driving across town for and on Weekends as long as their 50% off Pho special exists... it would be logically pointless to eat pho AMYWHERE else in the city on a weekend. Pointless. The restaurant itself by the way is absolutely beautiful. If they can tweak their broth they are .5 points away in my rating from being ELITE level. So far I've found only 2 elite level places.... one in Aspen Colorado and the other place is in Langford on...
Read moreI’ve had Rice Paper on 7th many times and absolutely love it. I didn’t feel like going out tonight, so we decided to DoorDash from Rice Paper. Unfortunately, the only location that delivers is the one on Shea and the experience was terrible. The quality was awful, and the presentation was just as bad. The flavors were somewhat similar to the 7th Street location, but the food was unbelievably dry. I honestly couldn’t believe it was even the same restaurant. Do not eat at this location if you have a choice. If you want Rice Paper, go to the one on 7th Street and it’s incredible. The Shea location, on the other hand, is absolutely terrible. They really need to improve their food quality. The food at the Shea location should taste and look the same as the ones on 7th Street, but they don’t and that’s really disappointing. I hope the owner can turn things around at the Shea location, because I truly love the Rice Paper on 7th, and it was sad to have such a poor meal from the...
Read moreWe just went to Vietnam a couple months ago and we were wanting to find some Vietnamese food here in the Phoenix area. Vietnamese food by the way is sooooo delicious!! I had never had it prior to going to Vietnam. Anyway, I found this place doing a google search and some of the reviews almost scared me away. Seriously! We wanted to go with friends and I was afraid of bringing my friends somewhere that was not great. But it was GREAT! Don’t let the other lame reviews scare you off. The food was amazing, the service was excellent and the vibe was laid back and stylishly decorated. The manager that night was so nice and attentive. Our server was great too. The side of fries were huge and interestingly seasoned. We just asked for regular fries but we were told they were seasoned with pepper and a teensy bit of sugar. Sounds weird but they were really good. I totally will eat here again as it was mostly authentic...
