Schlotzsky's — Restaurant in Scottsdale

First time here. 5 Stars are for Amanda- she helped me download the app so I got free sandwich. I hope the food is as amazing as she was...she has a very pleasing way about her that is very becoming and gracious.. . She really speaks highly of this Shoppe!!**WELL, STARTED AT 5 STAR JUST FINISHED.. There was very little bacon on The BLT , we asked for more guacamole I just wanted them to spread a little more on the sandwich they wanted to charge for that no thank you. I love the bread on my sandwich what the portions of meat again were small.. both of us basically just tasted bread and lettuce.. I think they're very concerned about not giving away too much portion to people or maybe they didn't like it that they advertised a free sandwich for doing the app which I took advantage of it was not my intent even to go in there to get that but I saw it so I thought why not. My friend didn't finish her sandwich but the cat likes it LOL

Also it's unusual when you walk in there's a very small counter space with a small menu board behind it which is a little difficult to read and you can't even see anybody that's making the food it's all done in the back it's a bit unusual in this day and age. Usually you can see the preparation area. It seems like they want to have the appearance of a European Deli or something which it isn't..

So you should go there and draw your own conclusion... that's too bad because the staff member Amanda was really a good representative.. I'm not so sure how if it got real busy would be able to handle all the people up front in such a small little area to take orders from. Maybe that's a European way but if the food was just more plentiful we would have been a lot happier at least they could have said will give you more guacamole this once but don't ask again none of that the staff member came back out and just said I have to charge you for the guacamole extra she said it in a very nice way good it's expensive...

Always great original sandwich. Service was slow, since nothing is made fast, but the finished product is excellent. All locations in California are closed, and 15 years ago the prices were higher in Cal then they are now, in Arizona. That's for those complaining about the price, yet never complain about the food! As for slow service, my wife and I eat at Schlotskys Everytime we travel to Arizona, and never have had a complaint about slow service, price, cleanliness or use of restrooms. I noted one person complained because they will not allow anyone but customers to use the restroom. They are in business to serve their customers, not moochers off the street who just want to pass on the toilet seat. McDonalds are now going to stop non-customers from using their restrooms. If people are to broke to buy a soft drink to pee, go find a bush! Quit bitching about stupid things. The food at Schlotskys is good. It is prepared correctly, it is tasty, it is worth the price. Get a life if you think the good is to expensive. Grow up if you feel you are entitled to pee in anyone's restroom while not doing any business with them. Quit crying about how hard your life is. I bet those crying about these stupid things, are all liberals who have student loans they cry are to much to pay back. I paid mine back. Every penny! But cry babies just believe if they cry loud enough, everyone will collapse and give in to...

6/24/25 update. New staff again. Cashier was friendly, but i did not order a large sandwich. After I received my order, I pointed this out and was told this was a "regular" size. I discarded over half of it. Cookies are smaller. Frankly, Whataburger next door is a better value for the money and not $15 for lunch.... 3/6/25. No change....Update: 10.9.24 I thought I would try this place again, but the previous review stands. Service was good, turkey was dry, still limited beverage selection. This location used to be great but not so much now. There are other options with a better value for the price.

Update 6.6.2024. They are out of turkey, so I requested chicken as a substitute but was charged more. The flavored soda machine is gone. One reason I came here was for vanilla coke. The service was acceptable, but the chicken was dry and lacked the flavor that turkey has. Clearly new management and employees. I don't recommend this store anymore until things change. For about $15 for lunch, this store misses the mark now. I'm very disappointed. 2021 review - Amanda is great. She appears to be not only a hard worker, but she also shows an interest in the customer and making the order right. Good job! Update 4.4.22. New manager Bobby is doing a great job.
