Krispy Kreme — Restaurant in Scranton

Well, after 7:30pm tonight, I NO LONGER WILL EVER be a customer of Krispy Kreme D. Scranton. Been buying donuts here since the mid 90s as my go to choice for KK donuts. Even when I lived several hours away I would still drive here quarterly to get my fill. Now I only reside roughly an hour away and tonight was the last straw. Today was my wife's b-day and we had plans to do dinner at her favorite eatery. Instead of buying her a BD cake, I mentioned KK donuts instead especially with the Reeses donut being new and her loving all the ingredients that the donut is comprised of. Not my cup of tea, but also not my BD. So in order to make it all happen after she got home from work, we had to cancel plans for dinner since they were in opposite directions. So off we trekked to KK, and then decided to do dinner elsewhere because what is a BD without cake (or donuts in this case, lol)?. In any event, drive all the way out to Scranton KK and not only are they not selling the Reeses, but they don't even sell any of the specialty donuts except for the BD cake filled donut, which we have had several times here in the past. And guess what? Yup... .they did not make any of those today either. So in essence, this place is only advertising 1 donut in huge bold signage and they did not even make any. In the end, wound up dropping $10 for a dozen donuts that I could have gotten at any donut shop..... and for less. This is NOT the first time that KK in Scranton has had lackluster choice for donuts, but for me and my wife, it will be the last. If I had known all they were doing to have was their traditional lineup I NEVER would have ruined her dinner plans nor would I have wasted time & $$ on what I wound up buying there tonight. So after over 25 years of sincere dedication to this facility I say.... Due to poor selection and horrible advertising....... You have lost us as customers and will surely...

Don't get me wrong people I absolutely love Krispy Kreme just as much as the next person.. But this particular location sucks! I walked in there one day specifically asking them if they have plain white vanilla frosting or if they can make it because I prefer their glazed donuts with just plain white frosting.. not plain white frosting with chocolate drizzle.. and definitely not chocolate frosting alone.. I do not like chocolate frosting whatsoever.. The reason I went in and ask3d is because at another location in Clarks Summit they have been so kind as to serve me the donuts I've requested numerous times with no problem, but this particular location told me no they do not. To come back but before doing so call ahead & Request them to make the frosting 1st at least 30 mims ahead. So a couple days later I did exactly that! I came in about 35 minutes after the phone call and let them know I would wait out in my car until the frosting was completed because they hadnt even started it and they werent busy at all.. I had been given an attitude and given excuses at that time also they could tell I was upset so they decided to just make the frosting I ordered. once my order was completed the lady handed me a box of donuts I took them home and they were literally doused in hard vanilla frosting not neatly poured at all!! Very messy..it was way too sugary the donuts were not soft or fresh at all very...

OMG YUMMMMM! They honestly have the absolute best donuts in this ENTIRE area!! I don't get them often because they are a distance from where we live and my partner and I are diabetics. But we were nearby and I was starving so we made a pitstop. Best idea ever! As usual they had an amazing variety to pick from and I had such a hard time deciding! Unlike Dunkin donuts, their selection is very limited and honestly they aren't that great anymore. They had some new choices that they didn't have before like oreo cookie and strawberry shortcake! So I got one of each as well as their traditional favorites. I got in the car and didn't waste a second! I grabbed the oreo donut and scarfed it down! Ooooh decadent BLISS!!! Not only did it totally taste like an oreo cookie but it had the most delicious chocolate filling I've ever tasted! Near the end, I was taking tinier bites trying to make it last. I swear it was the best donut I think I've EVER eaten!! And nope, not exaggerating! And the strawberry shortcake was just as delicious and also tasted just like its name! My two regrets are that I didn't get more of that flavor and my diabetes makes it bad for me to eat them. Mega bummer! Because I would go back and buy entire box of them and freeze them! But although I have to moderate how often I eat them,I definitely plan on going back and I hope they still have that one!!! Once...
