Northern Light Espresso Bar and Cafe — Restaurant in Scranton

I'm not leaving a bad review over the food. The food was good, but it was the older lady serving me that wasn't. As you can see, I rated the service and atmosphere 1 star. The environment in this establishment was horrible. This woman acted like it was brutal for her to take my order, rolling her eyes, huffing, and honestly, just moving in a hostile way. The workers behind her were just standing there and staring (at me, the floor, and eachother) and when it came time for me to grab my order, she shoved everything at me so fast, not saying anything. I was appalled, but to be the bigger person, I just said, "Bye! Have a great day." The place was decorated lovely and the food was decent, but Northern Light will not be getting my service again. Only positive out of this was the marathon...

I usually stop here every year when I’m in town. They have great tasting coffee. However, the service is horrible and rude. I stopped there around 10am Sunday morning on 7/23. I heard them making fun of customers because they wanted flavoring in their coffee. “Coffee is coffee”. You are a speciality coffee shop! I also heard them using foul language referring to a customer as a b**. I asked a question, a basic question, he was extremely rude. I honestly have never seen such a poor attitude towards customers. It’s a shame because I love a great cup of coffee. The coffee is good, but I don’t feel like waking up, and dealing with such negativity- not a happy start to the day. If the staff feel they are too good for their jobs perhaps they should work...

Waited at the counter (I did not sit down) a very long time for a coffee that's on their winter menu. They mislabeled my coffee and called out a tea instead. I watched 3 other customers handle my drink to see if it was theirs before they "checked" to see if it was my coffee, which it was. Now cold and handled by a minimum of 5 people, they didn't even offer to remake the coffee... I ordered "the largest size they had" but watched larger cups leave. When I asked about the size difference the answer I got was a very snooty "that's the size you paid for" but 1 minute prior they weren't even sure if that was the right drink. Not pleasant. Pretty crappy experience for simple coffee....
