Finbars Italian Kitchen — Restaurant in Seal Beach

We stopped by as this place had been recommended. We ordered the soup of the day, fried cheeses raviolis, fried calamari and an order of Brucheta ...it was happy hour. The soup was good, the raviolis were over fried (too Brown and dry) the calamari tasted good, however, we found pieces of plastic...yes plastic! We called our waiter over and showed him the pieces including a piece that we had not chewed on. He took it to his manager who never came by our table to apologise and just told him to offer us a new one. We did not want another one as we were full. The waiter came by later to let us know that he showed it to the kitchen and that they said it was part of the bag of flour used for the batter and that "it happens" what? It happens? Well NO! it should not just happen. He apologized but nothing was taken from the bill. Needless to say we are not coming back to this...

Diane was our server and we were asking some recommendations from the menu between different things. Its not our first time here, so we knew what was good, but also wanted to try something new. I was just pretty disappointed when she said "I already wrote down the order" when we were only asking for suggestions. I thought it was an impatient gesture- like she was rushing us to make an order so she can get on to the next one. I think the bartender i think was new. We didnt like the first drink, so we had it sent back and the second drink was wrong - it wasnt like the description of the drink at all! We had to send the drink back and had them get it right... It came back, and it had no alcohol... it was just juice. We were so disappointed. I get that we're just getting back into the rhythm of things, but that was a lot of mistakes that made me just want to walk out...

This place is a gem in Seal Beach. Love it so much it’s way better than Buca or Olive Garden. Why help some fat CEO buy a 5th home? Support your local biz. Service was great, plenty of parking and good ambience. Did I mention the food? It was worth the drive to eat awesome dishes that’s mouth watering and super satisfying. Sandwiches, seafood, burgers and more. They have something for everyone. The only drawback was that we ate so much we had no room for dessert! They have a long comfortable bench seating and many tables. Table for 10? Bam ready! They provide crayons for you to doodle on your paper table top while you wait. Check out their back hallway, it’s got a huge collage of drawn images from past patrons. Spectacular! Servers are fast, friendly and hard working. They all do a superb job and am thankful.
