My first time going to Old Ranch, was to attend a celebration of life for a very close friend's mother. The venue was beautiful and the food was delicious.
With that being said, we were very disappointed. The wait staff began removing all of the food and even the guests plates an hour before our scheduled time was up. I had a plate for my 7 year old, but she didn't even really get to eat it because she was playing with friends and the staff removed the plate before she had a chance to enjoy it. None of us even realized that it was only 6pm, because we were mourning with family and friends, we simply began to say our goodbyes as that was clearly our que to leave. My friend paid for the room until 7pm. Not only did they remove the food but they began stacking chairs and it felt like we had overstayed our time. I have felt less rushed eating at a restaurant at closing time than we did here. Family and friends came from far distances, including out of state, to pay respects to her mother and our time was cut short. Time we will never get back. At a time when we needed each other the most.
After the event, my friend called to express her dissatisfaction and has been continually brushed off. While the conversations have been polite, she never gets a call back, even though she has called several times.
This was NOT a cheap venue. This was NOT the Olive Garden!! And she didn't just have sandwich trays and bags of chips! HUNDREDS of dollars worth of food had been discarded and people were not even given the time to finish what was on their plates. She definitely did NOT get what she paid for!!
Now, not only is she grieving the loss of her mother, but she is having to almost fight to get a resolution to this. For such a "classy" venue, one should expect far more superior customer service especially considering the circumstances.
This is disappointing because we had intended to host at least two more celebrations at Old Ranch because it is a beautiful location. But considering the costs, and what was lost with no resolution, I can't see having any other events there, nor would I recommend the...
Read moreWe had the absolute pleasure of celebrating our wedding at this breathtaking venue, and we are beyond grateful for the unforgettable experience. From the very beginning, Mr. Ebi went above and beyond to help us plan every aspect of our special day—offering his time, care, and attention to detail for an entire year. His kindness, patience, and dedication truly meant the world to us. On the day of our wedding, the entire staff was nothing short of amazing—professional, kind, and incredibly supportive of all our needs. They made sure everything ran seamlessly so we could fully enjoy every moment without worry. The venue itself was perfect in every way: a stunning bridal and groom suite, a dreamy gazebo and ceremony space, and the most magical sunset that created an atmosphere we will never forget. We are endlessly thankful to Mr. Ebi and the entire team for their unwavering support, hard work, and genuine care. Words cannot fully express our appreciation for everything you did to make our wedding so special. From the bottom of our hearts—thank you. We will always cherish this experience and recommend this venue...
Read moreNeighbors please beware. I was driving down Lampson from Candleberry to Seal Beach Blvd with my seven year old daughter in the car with me when my windshield was struck by a golf ball. Not only did it break my windshield but it was so loud it scared me enough that I almost crashed. I made Old Ranch aware that a golf ball escaped their driving range (where there is no netting) right away. They made their insurance company (Liberty Mutual) aware of the incident who of course said there was no way for me to prove that it was a golf ball or that there Country Club was responsible for the broken windshield. I'm sorry, what exactly do you believe made the perfectly circular break in my windshield as I drive by your Country Club driving range? I simply was asking to be reimbursed my deductible for my insurance claim not a new car. This isn't the first time a golf ball hit my car from Old Ranch either, about a year ago one landed in my truck bed at the signal of Candleberry and Lampson but since no damage was done I never made a complaint. Old Ranch, do the...
