Honestly I used to love this place so much...and never could understand why this place now seems to have lowered its quality and safety standards too...i remember this as being one of my favorite places to go for good Chinese food...it may not of always been the fastest or the cheapest but it was worth it because I always enjoyed every meal...and never thought i could say this but honestly i felt it was so disappointing because I know they knew what kind of food they were serving me to go...when i went in they were rushing me to order stuff i didnt even want and they were ironically all the highest priced items on the menu which i guess was the first red flag but i still never would of expected them to swindle me outta $45 -$50 with the dang tip I gave too!!!! For the worst beef n broccoli and chowmein I ever had in my life!!!...sorry i was jst so upset to go outta my way to drivr across town passing many other good places for asian take out but after the drive and long wait which was no problem thinking it was due to them making it fresh which only makes me a bit curious to why it took so long only to pay for the oldest left overs I ever had...i know i may of seemed like a new customer to them being almost a year since I last ordered any food from jims...but the chowmein was so mushy and old it could have passed for days old beef top ramen that sat out on the counter for day or two...honestly my mom said I was being a diva ...until she tried it herself and also tasted that weird urine like after taste from the beef n broccoli which I was so hungry and happy about eating till i got all the way home to eat...which going back was last thing I felt like doing plus I was a bit bummed out over...because I know the quality they are so known for ...the proof is even on the wall when you walk in so to serve me that was not a accident or mistake... they just didn't care anymore i guess or just my luck to be one of the only customers they ever given old left overs to ...🤔😝🤐😖😷🤢so if you are a new customer be careful it may be easier to slip it to than...
Read moreLast night my husband and I ate at Jim’s for the first time. The atmosphere is nostalgic, giving that “hole in the wall” vibes, where the best food is often created. It’s a very tiny setting with limited seating, but don’t let that deter you. Upon arriving we were warmly greeted by all the staff. Our server was extremely pleasant and helpful in answering any questions and giving great suggestions. We received a lovely plate of assorted dim sum items as a “gift”. Such a kind gesture as first time guests that truly made us feel welcomed. We ordered Jim’s Special chow fun, steamed rice, sweet&sour pork, oolong tea and black mushrooms and bokchoy. Unfortunately we didn’t take any pictures. I usually don’t care for pork at restaurants because it’s either dried out or is too fatty and doesn’t break down, but my husband loves pork so we thought we’d try it. I couldn’t get enough of these dishes! The pork was fantastic with every bite! The food wasn’t oily/greasy or heavy. We also inquired about other customers orders that looked equally delicious. Again we were thanked by the staff as we left, and we expressed our gratitude for the food and service. The only downsides are the limited seating and parking, but that won’t be stopping us! This little treasure is definitely going on our list of frequented restaurants! Thank you for one of the best experiences of our...
Read moreMy wife and I stopped here for lunch. The staff was very friendly—and that’s the only good thing I can say.
All the furniture in the restaurant was sticky and tacky to the touch… absolutely gross. The food was unbelievably bad. The beef in our dish had a strange, off-putting flavor. My best guess is that it came from one of those discount meat suppliers that resell expired or heavily marked-down meat from grocery store surplus.
The rice, the noodles—everything just tasted awful. We each tried to force down a few bites out of politeness, but neither of us could finish more than that. I stopped eating altogether because I genuinely felt that continuing would have made me sick.
I don’t understand how this place has such a high rating. I suspect they’re manipulating their reviews—whether it’s through paid positives or having negative ones removed, I can’t say for sure. The walls are plastered with awards, but all of them are from 10 to 20 years ago.
Maybe the food was good back then. But now, they have no business serving what they’re serving. I seriously doubt they’re meeting even the basic local health standards.
You can get MUCH better food from Panda Express...
