I don’t like leaving challenging reviews for local businesses, because I know how tough times are right now, but this has been such a bad experience that I don’t want anyone else to encounter.
Absolutely do not book this hotel. I would give zero stars if I could. I made a reservation directly on the hotel’s website, and received an email confirmation from them that stated I could cancel 72hrs ahead of my reservation. Then, when I realized I needed to cancel, I called 4 days in advance, and their front desk staff was rude and unhelpful, told me they could not help and hung up on the phone mid-conversation 3 times.
So, I sent them two emails asking to cancel and have a refund and never received a response.
I just tried to call them again, and again they refused to help and hung up with me on the phone, so now I’m stuck with a reservation and have not received a refund.
*Update on August 21 The hotel provided me a below response on this review, but that response wad unfortunately a generic message to a very specific question - I’m asking for a refund and the hotel did not address that request, not anything specific about my issue, in their response. They also continue to not respond to any of my emails and they have not called me back to...
Read moreAll things considered, Pacific Best was a pretty great stay. Their rates are already pretty low for a room, and after getting a deal through Priceline I only ended up paying about $75 per room for 2 rooms, each with 2 queen beds. The bathroom was very clean and seemed to have been recently renovated. The beds were similarly very clean, although a little on the stiff side. They weren’t terribly hard, certainly good enough to fall back on after a long day.
The front reception was a very honest man, didn’t hide any information from me and made sure I understood any fees and checkout time. Extending past the 11:00 checkout is an additional $10 per hour, which seems reasonable enough.
The only issues I had at all were that one of our rooms had trash left in the dresser, the fridge didn’t stand up properly and thus was hard to open, and the microwave seemed particularly stained. All minor, and for somebody who’s just stopping through for a night or two while exploring Route 1 or Monterrey they weren’t bad at all.
All in all, highly recommend this motel for a cheap and simple experience. Protip for the future: They apparently offer complimentary breakfast with the room, though at this time it wasn’t available...
Read moreHorrible experience at this location. I am very disappointed with the room quality and service. My boyfriend and I arrived and stayed for only 10 minutes, upon arrival we noticed a very unpleasant smell. The room was very cold, moldy and outdated. The vibes overall felt very unsafe. We expressed this with the front manager and he apologized as there was a no refund policy despite only staying for 10 minutes, hadn’t even stayed the night. After we expressed how bad it was and kindly asked for a refund, he offered another room which, equally, was as bad as the first. We could not stay asunder such conditions and asked for a refund again. Owner became very hostile and said he could not do anything about it despite us not even staying the night or using anything yet. He then said “get out of my place he wasn’t going to argue with us and he couldn’t go anything about it” even though we asked hotel booking for advice which then they told us that he is in control of policy. Just a big mess, long story short we were not refunded and did not stay despite the room and service being...
