Dined here last minute after a long day chaperoning an FRC tournament. Things I loved: - they were able to quickly accommodate our party of 10 on a rainy Friday night. - when some in our party ended up not being able to come, they didn’t give us any gruff about it. We chose to shift our seats so they could break apart the big table into two smaller dining spots - good was fantastic! - started off with the sizzling mushrooms and the Brussels sprouts - it didn’t appear to be a ton of Brussels at first because they were in a single layer on a plate versus in a bowl, but it ended up being the perfect amount, and the sauce was fantastic. The sizzling mushrooms were amazing! Sorry, forgot to snag pics of those two dishes. - fish and chips were great! Tons of crispy, flaky but not dry fish atop a bed of the most interesting fries I’ve ever seen. Imagine a steak-fry-size flat potato “wedge” but curved on both ends reminding me of a flower petal. They were really great and not soggy or floppy at all! I can’t stand underdone fries. - multiple in my party had the gnocchi two ways and thought it was dynamite. They couldn’t decide if they liked the Gorgonzola or the marinara sauce better. - Beef stroganoff and the prawn risotto rounded out our meal. There wasn’t a crumb left - Bread pudding - absolutely incredible! I love bread pudding but everywhere I go people put raisins in it. Not here. A huge chunk that was perfectly cooked all the way through. There were no mushy parts and no dry parts. Definitely some of the best bread pudding had at a restaurant ever. - I definitely recommend going but between drinks, dinner and dessert I easily spent $80 on my dinner. - waitstaff was very friendly Things I would change: - for the price point, I was expecting a slightly different atmosphere. It felt very much like a breakfast/lunch cafe that got super popular so they started doing really great dinner dishes as well. There were cloth napkins but maybe tablecloths could have changed the vibe a bit more. - our table was sitting out in the middle of the entire dining room, which I understand because we were a larger party, but I felt a little bit like I was in a fishbowl. However, I think it was partly my fault for not requesting something towards the wall. That is just a personal preference issue, though. - not a huge wine selection, options were fine but nothing spectacular and they were out of the only Chardonnay you could get by the 1/2 bottle.

Last year there was a fire at this restaurant. So they rebuilt and remodeled it. At first I didn't understand the name and decor because the dinner menu and the professionalism of the waiting staff didn't seem to fit the 1950 era that the restaurant had said it was on line. We were expecting it to be more casual. Don't get me wrong the feel of the restaurant isn't fancy but definitely not the laid back feel I thought we were going to have. The decor has this pretty teal and the architecture of the restaurant does not match what it looks like outside. They have comfy looking booth seating, the music was jazzy, the woodwork was beautiful and the feel seemed more upscale than we expected. Prices for dinner was a little higher than we expected too. We just went in for a small bite to eat. The waiting staff was so professional, friendly and attentive! We kinda felt we were in Carmel!! I LOVEDDDDDD the French Onion Soup! We probably will go back for breakfast since there menu has a lot to try AND THEY HAVE BENITS in the morning. Please read the background of why they named the restaurant Google Grill and the inspired architecture that ties in with the name. Description is in one of my pics! We enjoyed our food and definitely will be back!!

I have driven past this place for many years but have never stopped by to give it a try until today. I was craving for fried chicken and waffles since I last tried them in Atlanta, Georgia. I searched local places and found this place offered it. I saw pictures of actual fried chicken being served so I didn’t hesitate. I placed my order and was surprised that the food was ready very fast! But the second it was placed on my table I realized this was a joke! This was no chicken fried as advertised, these were plain frozen chicken strips! No seasoning, no nothing! The single waffle was a bit undercooked but extra butter & maple syrup made up for it. I cannot believe this child-like meal was over 20 bucks excluding tax and tip. It was not even the real thing. The server was polite upon arrival but never checked on me. He just walked by and dropped the bill without even asking if I needed anything else. Overall, this was a disappointing experience for such high rated place. The dining room was pretty much empty so that does not justify the lacking service. I do not recommend.

18/09/2022 11:00AM. Came here for breakfast, the restaurant wasn’t busy. They sat us right away, we already knew what we wanted to ate because we were running out of time.. 11:10AM nobody took our order, I was trying to call the servers waving my hands and making eye contact but it was pretty obvious that they were ignoring us. A girl with curly hair took our full order 11:12AM (California Eggs Benedict’s, one side of French toast, ham steak & eggs, regular coffee and iced coffee), a different girl brought us the iced coffee, 7 minutes later I had to stand up to ask for my regular coffee. Food was ready in a decent time 11:25AM… the servers/abúsese/food runner didn’t bother to asked if we were ok, if the food was ok or if we needed something else, not even one single time. I even had to stand up to ask for the check.

ABOUT THE FOOD: California Eggs Benedict: very tasty, potatoes on point, enough hollandaise sauce, juicy turkey 10/10 Savannah Country Combo: 2/10 OMG, was that really a Ham Steak?? Honestly it was like a Land O’Frost slices of ham for sandwiches.. if you go to different breakfast places around the area you will understand what it’s a Ham Steak. SCAM and over priced.

The facilities are very nice and cozy, but the service is perverse, i know that their sister restaurant is Wave Street Café, you should send your staff there so that they can give them a training about costumer service. TOTALLY DIFFERENT.

My boyfriend and I are good tippers because I work in a restaurant and I know how hard it is sometimes, but there was no excuse, I saw enough staff ignoring us, the place wasn’t busy when we arrived and we were very close to the kitchen...

The food is good, But way overpriced for what it is. I also noticed that anything fried tastes faintly of seafood, either because they are sharing the same batter or the same fryer. It’s not a bad thing flavor wise, but that could turn into a pretty serious contamination issue for the wrong individual. There are a few items in the menu that sound very intriguing that we haven’t had to opportunity to order yet. I wouldn’t recommend going here for anything other than one of their specialty items, because otherwise you’re just paying too much for a lot of menu items. Meals range between $20-50 for a modest size entree. Quite literally the most expensive Sanddabs I’ve seen in the entire county. Now I have heard good things about breakfast/brunch and have a feeling that’s the menu where they probably shine the most. The location itself is beautiful, and I didn’t have any issues with the staff when I’ve gone. They seemed professional, courteous, and timely. Their cook does NOT seem like a novice, I’ve trained in the culinary arts and can always recognize when the cook is experienced or not, and they indeed are here. My criticism is pretty much all centralized toward decisions of the executive/management. Everyone taking orders and preparing food is doing well with what is available to them. I will reiterate that for what’s on offer, the prices are entirely too steep. I don’t mind expensive meals, but if it’s not matched with the highest tier of quality and truly unique menu options, too much cost starts to detract from how much an individual...
