Great spot in Seaside for beer and fresh baked Ad Astra bread/snacks. Casual atmosphere, good classic rock music and lots of family style tables and seating. Board games like connect four, battleship, and others are provided if you are so inclined. Really fun vibe here. There is some outdoor "parklet" seating and a nice fresh breeze flows through the interior. Parking can be a challenge but there is a big lot across the street in the Grocery Outlet center. Efficient counter ordering system with easy tap to pay terminals. Staff is friendly and helpful. The beer is pretty solid but I think the secret weapon here is the bakery. The tempting savory treats are a great beer pairing and most people seem to take a loaf of bread and maybe some cans of beer home too. I’m not an IPA guy but there are plenty of other options for me. I tried a honey wheat and a dry Irish stout—both very good. I will definitely return to try more. My only complaint is that all beers are served in a plastic solo cup. Beer always tastes better from a proper mug/glass and the hundreds of discarded plastic cups is a bit of a downer. I know it would be quite an investment to switch to washable glassware, but this beer is worthy of it. Give it some thought OBB CO owners. Cheers! Read moreIs there a better place is Seaside to grab craft beer? I personally don’t think so. Yeah, you can sit in the dim lighting of BWW’s and drink big brand ‘craft’ beer that’s been produced and pressurized months ago. Or you can drink locally made, fresh, small batch, craft beer.
Calling Other Brother upscale isn’t a bad thing, but if you’re traveling from a big city, maybe that definition wouldn’t fit. But in Seaside, Other Brother is a nice reprieve from our normal small town business. Modern, but casual, OtherBrother offers outdoor seating in an uncovered patio area if vitamin D capture or people watching are your forte. Inside, there’s ample seating including at the bar, or also a secondary bar that faces the street with open windows to experience the cool breeze. They usually have at least twelve beers in tap, there’s always something to take home with you whether merchandise or cold cans are your preference. They’ve recently renovated their kitchen, and while I’ve yet to try it, the specials sounded tantalizing. Their beer is good. As a relatively new brewery, they’ve improved vastly over the past few years. They’re always promoting live events and music acts, supporting local bands and artists. Stop in and...
Read moreThis is the first true brewery on Broadway, and I hope it starts a trend of other hip places in Seaside! This place has a list of beers that they brew in house, as well as guest taps from other breweries. They offer kegs, but no cans or growlers yet.
The space is also shared by Ad Astra, a bread company that has amazing local baked goods like pretzels, potato breads, and other warm snacks. We had a squash bowl with pumpkin seeds and rasins and a potato and rosemary flat bread, and both were to die for.
I tried a few different beers, and liked everything I sampled. Their half pours are huge and they're around $3 each, a bargain for quality home brews.
Parking is limited, but I managed to find a spot just across the street. All the bartenders are lovely and the variety of people hanging out there was really dope - big age ranges and even kids earlier in the night, munching on fresh pretzels and sodas. This place has mainly bench seating, super conducive to conversations. I can't wait to come back and hang...
