Hello Cesar! What a wonderful cafe. The Almond Croissant, warm and fresh, the hot chocolate just made to order - what a mouthwatering experience (after delightful tactile experience at Tricotier just a few minutes earlier).
Two big, easy chairs, and a table, rather empty, but this is what is required in the time of Covid ("In the Time of Cholera" as GG Marquez wrote!).
The big BIG! HUGE! frame on the wall with probably 2,000 pictures and in the center? Hans, who was the original creator of Arosa Cafe, first on Madison and Summit in Seattle, then in Madison Court because his wife told him she can't stand him being at home after he retired and he has to do something with himself! So, he opened another Cafe.
I am so pleased to have met Cesar, his wife and their little daughter. They all, Hans, Cesar and his family are in a photo together, on that wall.
And one thing I remember Hans did? He did not leave napkins on the counter for customers to take as many as they wanted. HE handed out one or two (sometimes) napkins and that was to suffice! Not 10 napkins and making a mess on the floor without then picking it up by a customer. I have seen it too many times (Starbucks).
Cesar, thank you for being the fifth owner of Arosa! Congratulations to you and your family. Please keep up the good work, please do build your business acumen, so that Arosa stays for the years to come, so that your family has this "family business" and that your daughter can say proudly "My papa put me through college thanks to Arosa Cafe he owns for years!"
Congratulations...
Read moreThe warm welcome of this coffee shop is still on my mind six months after a single visit. My husband and I stopped by on Saturday morning, October 1, 2022 after an innocuous google search for “coffee shops near me.” We were initially concerned we had invaded a private venue, since the shop was crowded with families, a woman making balloon animals, and a jovial atmosphere where everyone seemed to know each other. Tentatively, we made our way to the counter and ordered drinks and breakfast sandwiches. We asked for our items to go (“Why?!” the owner joked, recognizing the chaotic energy). We sat down at the only empty table to wait for our items and were accidentally served “for here” on plates. I am so glad for the misunderstanding. We watched as multiple fellow customers came and went, most greeted by name, with pets and kids, discussing sports activities and weekend plans in English and Spanish. We marveled at the wall of photos, and felt enveloped in a global community we had just discovered moments before. When we left, the owner apologized for the wait and the mix up, but I thanked him and said “Now we feel like family!” As we walked back to our car a block away, I was overcome by emotion for our unexpected breakfast immersion. The feeling of belonging was palpable and so unexpected.
Thank you, Arosa family, for using sandwiches, caffeine and incredible smiles to embrace the world, making all of us your neighbors. I look forward to my next...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to dine at Arosa Cafe in Seattle, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere. The decor was cozy and inviting, and the smell of freshly baked waffles was divine.
The highlight of my visit was definitely the food. I had the pleasure of trying Nutella & Banana Liege Waffle, Arepa Carne Mechada and Chicken Avocado Panini, and they were all absolutely delicious. The waffles were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a perfect balance of sweetness. The arepas were filled with a variety of savory fillings, and the paninis were loaded with fresh ingredients and melted cheese.
The service at Arosa Cafe was top-notch. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. They made sure I was comfortable and satisfied with my experience. They also made great recommendations for menu items and drinks, which made my dining experience even more enjoyable.
Overall, I had an amazing experience at Arosa Cafe, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food and great service in Madison Park near the Arboretum Park, Seattle. The Liege waffles, arepas, and paninis are definitely a must-try. I will...
