Half a dozen oysters for $15! The best place for the freshest oysters in North Seattle. Wonderful food, drinks, and ambiance.

Not a boring cocktail in sight. Even the zero proof drinks have so much pizzazz.Sat near bar and could see all the drinks being made and several times my date said, “we need to come back and try all of these!” the small plates are just astonishing in their variety and quality.

Pictured here are the clams that had an amazing chorizo broth with a slice of toast piled high with smashed avocado. Generous portion of almonds, and we’ve made a plan to come back with another girlfriend, and eat through each of the small plates.

Attentive service, and a great vibe throughout the place. A treasure tucked away just off Greenwood Avenue N and 85th.

Update. Went back and took friends. They were they were equally impressed. There’s a new price drop on the half dozen oysters which are incredibly popular. That they are very fresh and come out on beautiful black stones. The calamari salad is incredibly fresh. Add the duck prosciutto with pickled vegetables and a warm cheese biscuit to die for. I’d love it if they made the cheese biscuit out of entirely separate order. We could’ve inhaled those...

Very pricey, for what you get. Someone else has posted photos of the servings and the menu with the same prices we saw last night (we didn't see the $5 for two slices of dry, toasted, oiled French bread). We ordered the octopus, the squid, a beer and a glass of wine. My wife saw the table next to us had bread, so she asked the server for some bread, it took several unsuccessful attempts to get their attention. We received two plates with two pieces of dry oiled bread on each plate. We finished with the cheese cake, which was pretty good. The octopus was ok, but the squid was disappointing. We have had much better. Anyway the four pieces of toasted/dry baguette added $10 to the bill, before tax. $97.02 total. Ambiance - there was music, but the place was so noisy that it was just part of the noise. The person at the table next to us was regaling the other people at the table (and adjacent tables that were talking at similar volumes) with tales of her experiences with her therapist. It was noisy enough that I could tune that out, but the general din was...

Bar Sur Mer is an exceptional tapas and cocktail bar. We've tried most things on the menu from food to drinks and are rarely disappointed.

Must-try is the wood fired octopus, the unique take on an espresso martini, and more!

It's the type of place for two or smaller parties, we haven't quite figured out if we should be getting reservations or walking in, we generally have luck with walking in, but at peak times we can tell it gets busy in such a small place so you may have a decent wait.

We typically consider a few shareables and drinks a light dinner and date night, we don't leave stuffed but we thoroughly enjoy the bold Spanish flavors and top-notch food preparation. You would have to order a significant portion of the menu to fill up if you're on the 'very hungry' end of the spectrum.

The atmosphere is charming, clean, modern, and definitely gives a little upscale-coastal-eatery vibe. In colder months recommend a jacket as the door is aimed at a bulk of their tables and it can be a...

A beautiful space to enjoy a cocktail and some apps. They do take reservations now which is nice and I was able to grab one the day before I was hoping to visit. The space is beautiful, bright and sophisticated yet relaxed at the same time. The cocktail menu had a section for gin & tonics which is perfect for the spring/summer weather. The grapefruit gin cocktail was both delicious and beautiful. The food portions are on the smaller size so plan to order-up. There's also a very heavy use of olives which was tough to navigate for someone that doesn't overly love them. That being said, the beef tartare, calamari and endive salad were all delicious. If possible try to sit away from the windows as odd as that sounds. There was a houseless person begging for money with passing traffic which made for a disappointing juxtaposition while enjoying my time here.

I love dining at this beautiful place! We stopped here for an early dinner. It's great for happy hour in Greenwood, discounted small plates with cocktail and wine specials. The drinks and wine selection are very good, perfectly curated, and the service is top notch! Josiah and Sarah are super on top of making sure we had water and drinks and clearing our plates when necessary. We ordered the baguette with chive and garlic butter, the cod collars, the lamb crépinette, the manila clams, the mushrooms, the octopus, and the sardines. Everything was delicious, perfectly seasoned and had great combinations of flavors. For dessert, we had espresso martinis and the Manchego cheese with anise olive oil crackers, chocolate covered almonds, and quince jam. Will definitely be back again to try more items on the menu!
