Indian is one of my favorite cuisines so I guess it's safe to say I have tried a lot. Without a doubt, Kalia on Greenwood has become MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE PLACE FOR INDIAN CUISINE....so much that if we are in town, we go at least once a week! Yes, it's that good! We have tried several dishes on the menu (and enjoyed them all) but we have discovered certain dishes that have become our favorites - Punjabi Vegetables Pakoras, Aloo Tiki, Chicken Mulligatawany (all 3 were the best I've had in Seattle) Tawa Chili, Special Tandoor, Saag Paneer (best I've had in Seattle) and one that's not on the menu, Rogan Josh (they have made the best version of this I have tried)! I think you get the point. Beyond the wonderful flavors, this place succeeds where many restaurants don't...consistency. We expect a certain standard here and they always deliver. Plus, if you like spicy, this is a place that is not afraid to go bold - if you want it. Almost as important as the food, is the friendly service by the family who owns and runs this place. We've gone there enough that they know what we want before we even have to say it, and we don't just feel like friends when we are there, but we feel like family. This place has a comfortable, unpretentious atmosphere, and we have shared this place with several friends. Give this place a try, and we're confident you'll love it as...
Read moreKalia Indian Cuisine has become one of my favorite spots—not just for the amazing food, but for the warm hospitality that always makes me feel at home. The owner, Kalia, is incredibly kind and goes above and beyond to accommodate guests' needs. One memorable example was when I celebrated my birthday there. We had a party of over 10 people, and they handled it with ease and grace!
Rem, who assisted us that evening, provided exceptional customer service. She was friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu, which made it so much easier to order for a large group. The food arrived on time, perfectly prepared, and everyone absolutely loved it—there were barely any leftovers!
My family and friends couldn’t stop raving about the flavors and the service. And on top of that, every time I visit, Kalia sometimes treats me to one of their delightful desserts—small gestures like this show how much they genuinely care.
What truly sets this place apart is that you can feel the pride, love, and care in everything they do. It’s not just a restaurant—it’s an experience. They treat their customers like family, and that’s a rare find these days.
If you haven’t been to Kalia Indian Cuisine yet, don’t wait—go treat yourself. You...
Read moreTerrible and traumatizing experience. The owner, Kalia, would not stop aggressively hitting on my friend and me. We came in to grab food to-go and Kalia immediately took an obvious interest in us. He kept trying to convince us to dine in and have a beer with him, after we told him we were underage. He was standing way too close for comfort, kept muttering creepy comments under his breath, & even put his hand on my back once. We left the shop while our food was being made and when we came back, Kalia sat us down at a table and tried to serve us alcohol AGAIN. Except this time he literally brought the beer and glasses to our table. After telling him no and that we had somewhere to be (for the 4th time), he laughed at us. Then he asked for our payment & took our credit cards just to come back & tell us he wasn’t charging us bc we were “good people”. Why did he need to take our cards if he wasn’t gonna charge them….. Before walking us out of the restaurant and to our car, he made both of us write down his personal cell phone number too. Literally such an uncomfortable and creepy experience. We just wanted samosas but instead we got harassed and traumatized. At least we didn’t have to pay for the food we got out of that...
