Date Night on Two Perfect Patios

Went here around 7:30 pm on a Sunday, wanted to share a bottle with my boyfriend over a charcuterie board and dinner but quickly realized that the listed wine selection menu on Google was $20 cheaper than it is today. Wish an updated menu had been front and center; instead of a $39-$50 bottle they were $60-$80 per. If you’re not tight on cash don’t worry, but this was a bit of a bummer as we were on a budgeted vacation and we couldn’t justify spending that kind of money on one bottle. We ordered the 3 oz charcuterie board, an Old Fashioned for him, and I had a “Summerbloom” wine tasting. All were dry French wines which were fine, but not outstanding to me. My boyfriend loved his Old Fashioned! The cheeses and meats were interesting but not worth the price for how little you receive. We skipped entrees due to the raised cost which we did not expect. However, the atmosphere made this memorable - we would happily return next time we’re in Seattle to try something new here. Love, love, love the overgrown greenery, lighting, & interior space. Second time will hopefully be the charm!

Absolutely have your event here!!! Bottlehouse was the perfect place for our wedding reception and they truly helped us craft an unforgettable night. The staff was so kind and welcoming to our guests and made my husband and I feel very cared for throughout the night. The food was tasty and plentiful with the staff always restocking when low. The drinks were phenomenal, it was so fun to craft our own menu and our guests loved how beautiful and unique all the drinks were. The event staff that helped plan everything in the months before were great at answering all my questions and made me feel like they’d have everything handled. Understand they are a full time restaurant when they don’t have events so you also need to trust the process and have patience with responses. I also feel I need to mention that their prices when it comes to venue rental and food/drink minimum were very fair and honestly a deal when it comes to other restaurants or wedding venues. So happy Bottlehouse was a part of our day and couldn’t be happier with how it all turned out.

I don't look forward to leaving negative reviews but I felt strongly about this experience that it would be a disservice if I didn't address it. *Spoiler alert: long story/rant ahead.

When I went for my first time. It was on a hot day this past June. Me and my partner thought we'd go and treat ourselves to a nice outing. Since I've always wanted to try this place due to hearing a bunch of good things from some colleagues. We set our eyes on a late lunch/ early dinner at Bottle House.

Came in optimistic especially after being seated right away in their outdoor patio section. We were off to a great start, until it turned into a lot of waiting. We gave the benefit of the doubt assuming they were just busy. It wasn't until we saw a few groups that got seated after us get their order taken before us that we decided to flag someone down. Once we did, we were told to wait a few more moments because another group had to be checked on before we could get our orders taken.

Surprisingly we were still in good spirits. We ordered our drinks, as well as our food so we could be set. Then afterwards our drinks came. This is where my experience spiraled down.

I picked up my wine glass filled with this Bordeaux wine that I was excited to try. Pressed the rim against my lip and took my sip. It hit me like a hot flash. The temperature of this wine was warmer than warm. It also wasn't just my wine but my partners's as well. So we managed to get a servers attention, voiced our concern and asked if we could order a different drink. I decided to go with a cocktail and my partner decided to order the Chardonnay.

When they dropped off our new drinks, they happened to be the wrong drinks. What had happened was they were a different tables drinks and when we flagged the same server down. they already seemed annoyed that we were gonna address a discrepancy. We eventually got the right drinks then our food. At that point we just wanted to drink our drinks and finish our food.

I enjoyed the food flavor wise, but I wasn't satisfied with the amount of food for the price I paid. If it was one of the better things I ate in my life I would be happy with paying however much for the amount of food I got. Sadly that wasn't the case. White wine was chilled so it was good and I liked the Chardonnay. The old fashion wasn't akin to a typical old fashion. It was more like a boulevardier, not as whiskey forward, but more alcoholic. Not my favorite old fashion

All in all this review was geared towards service, and quality of the drinks. Especially if you're supposed to be known for the variety of wines you serve. I would hope you can serve them at a decent temperature. Based off this experience alone, I wouldn't personally suggest them if someone was looking for a...

I love, love, love this place! First of all, it's located in a craftsman home in Madrona with an awesome front porch for bar seating and with an even better patio. This is more than just a charming wine bar - it's a wonderful and romantic dining experience.

The collection of wine is large, and I love that they have bottles for sale in the front foyer in all different prices ranges. Though the space inside is cozy, as you are reminded that this is in a house - I love sitting outside whether that be on the front porch that overlooks the neighborhood or out on the patio with communal benches and candlelight. Plus, they allow dogs on the porch and patio!

I never know what to order when I come here, but in addition to the great wine they have beer, French ciders(!) and cocktails. The food menu is similar to that of a French bistro - it's light yet all of the food is full of rich, fresh flavor and complements many of the wines. It's hard to pick a favorite because I've loved everything I've ever ordered from here, but if you've never been I suggest the cheese plate which is selected by the house cheesemonger, and you can add on charcuterie. Or for when you're getting tip-say I like the Parisian-style sandwiches that will easily fill any lush hankering.

Bottlehouse is a wonderful place that I love visiting whenever I'm in Madrona. It's such a gem in this residential community. And I've found that no matter how many times I've been here my experience here always somehow transforms me into another world and really stops time. Five stars...

I would leave a better review if we were even sat at a table. After entering I posited that we were looking for a couple drinks, Upon being asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside I said “whichever, wherever you want to sit us, inside is fine” the three people working there didn’t make eye contact or respond to me further. The two men of the bunch then continued to discuss something (surely regarding wine) and left me and my partner just standing there in the small space while I could literally see an open table. I’m no jerk, so I wasn’t just going to sit down (sign saying please wait to be seated) , and the woman I just spoke to seemed tired - heck I didn’t even know if there were others waiting for that table or not.i wouldn’t know because no one told us anything for minutes. So anyway getting the hint we called it for what it was and left. Not a word from any of them as I said “okay I guess- bye guys” . I really don’t know how this happens to people like myself and my partner. My working theory is we don’t look affluent enough to drink wine or something. we’ve both been in the service industry and get that it’s hard sometimes but to ignore someone intentionally is...
