Looking for a casa away from casa? Well Cactus definitely poked me the right away, and was not slimy at all.
I came in, swung a quick right to the lounge, and I found this serious bartender named Danny, flipping around margaritas faster than Speedy Gonzalez, and boy did they look good. Who needs to eat or drink, just charge me for the one man show!
He asked if I wanted to start with a margarita, me, a lover of all agave spirits, was intrigued by the holiday special. Kumquats freshly muddled to balance that sweet and tangy flavor? Registering for that drink was more satisfying then voting.
Anything devil related is my jam, being a ginger and all, diablo prawns it is! Perfectly fried shrimp....lathered in muy picante diablo sauce, and served with this mango-I-dunno sauce, amazing.
I asked for recommendations, between jalapenos stuffed with goat cheese wrapped in bacon or quesadillas, he suggested quesadillas, and allowed me to just get 1 jalapeno, his versatility to accommodate my desire for experiences and happiness, made my evening. Maybe it was my spicy personality after the prawns, they were devilishly magnifico.
I'm going to head to a live broadcast with KIRO, and afterward, during meet and greet, let's just say when they ask what I thought about the show....I'm going to say there ain't no show like the one man show don't ya know? Fo sho....

Read moreOur recent visit to Seattle included a dining experience at Cactus, a Latin fusion establishment. While the restaurant presents a Mexican aesthetic, its culinary offerings lean towards a Latin fusion concept. For those seeking traditional Mexican cuisine, this may not be the ideal choice. However, for individuals in search of a flavorful dining experience with a pleasant atmosphere and attentive service, Cactus is highly recommended. During our visit, I selected the chimichanga with smoked brisket, which offered a complex and enjoyable flavor profile. My son opted for the flautas, which he also found to be excellent. For dessert, we shared the flan and sweet bananas. Although I was unable to partake in the sweet bananas due to a cinnamon allergy, my son reported they were exceptional. It is worth noting that Kurt Cobain reportedly had his final meal at this establishment, including the sweet bananas for dessert.
The flan was enjoyable, though I personally prefer my own recipe, I still highly recommend it.
The cost, including beverages, was approximately $50+ per person, which is considered reasonable.
In summary, while the restaurant's Mexican-inspired dishes receive a rating of 5 out of 10, its Latin fusion offerings are rated a 9 out of 10, making it a worthwhile dining...
Read moreCactus is a great place for authentic Mexican food. Go during happy hour which is seven days a week Monday through Thursday it's 3 to 7 p.m. Weekends it is 3 to 5 p.m.
I personally love the Diablo shrimp on the happy hour menu it's to die for. Also get chips and salsa it's only $2 and they'll refill it over and over and the salsa homemade along with the warm chips. House Margaritas are pretty decent not the best but pretty good. During the summer try to get a table outside because the weather in The View is well worth it. The bar seating is for happy hour which is a pretty large area for bar seating, and kids are allowed in the bar area except at the actual bar which is rare in most restaurants. The staff is exceptionally nice and will accommodate just about any requests that you have.
A definite must is the fresh-made guacamole I recommend asking it for spicy because they make it a little bit mild for all of the Madison Valley people like myself that are to White I can't handle spice. It's definitely worth checking out in Madison Valley especially during the summer right by the beach. Also the West Seattle location is prime for viewing and for...
