Just realized that they opened in my neighborhood and wanted to try them out since I love no-frills meals. That isn’t to say this place isn’t nice - it’s in fact incredibly bright, clean, inviting, and comfortable in the shop :) But you can tell that besides the atmosphere they put a lot of love and attention into the cooking and that’s just what I was looking for. I got takeout and it was ready when I went to pick it up at the assigned time, packaged well, and handed over by a really nice staff member! When I got home I found that it was packaged neatly, and tasted delicious. I seriously can’t overstate how soft and tender the meat was. I got the kare kare and it’s my first time trying this dish but I’ve already recommended it to my friend to try next time she visits. The serving sizes are very generous and great value for the price ESPECIALLY considering the quality. The mix of savory and fresh flavors and the pop of colour from the veggies is delightful as well. I ate half and will be able to finish the other half later for dinner :) all in all I just can’t say enough good things, but I look forward to trying more of the menu in the future too! The seating area seemed very nice, for those that like to dine in, and parking in the area is a lot better than other parts of the city. I live close enough to walk so it’s not a concern for me but it’s definitely worth driving for and there’s a lot of residential streets behind the station and on weekends you can park quickly in the bank lot for pickups as well :)

The food was hit-or-miss for me. The mango juice is quite tasty. The adobo roll is also good, with lots of gooey cheese and a crispy shell, though the chicken could have used a lot more seasoning. The green sauce from their sauce bar is the bomb. The mac salad is great, but it's pretty traditional—I didn't get any of the "Filipino twist" mentioned on the menu. For desserts, the halo halo is a silly Filipino classic and they do it well here. The milk cakes are also really good. Unfortunately, the sizzling fried sisig was a bit disappointing, again lacking in seasonings and flavor overall. And I was let down to discover that several of my desserts were over a week old, as indicated by the Sharpied date on the container. I assume they were frozen and then thawed, but I don't know how long they had been sitting before or after being frozen. These specific desserts were super dry and dense, not pleasant at all. They weren't serving about half of their menu when I visited for some reason, which was very disappointing. That said, the staff is super friendly, the vibes are good, and they have free Wi-Fi. I'd love to give them another chance, but they really need to lean into bolder flavors and offer a full, consistent menu. And obviously they can't be serving desserts that are over a week old. I think CheBogz has potential and some of the dishes are quite good, but overall I'm disappointed.

Chebogz is the best Filipino food I’ve had in Seattle. Vibes are great here, definitely evokes a feeling of community. Service is always really sweet and fast. Dishes are all great for sharing as the portions are filling. Here are my top recs: * Arroz caldo - My favorite dish here, very similar to congee and warms my tummy * Sizzling sisig with garlic rice and pancit - This is my hubby’s favorite and our go-to dish to share * Buko pandan: So good and milky! The flavors for these dishes are also on point: * Longanisa with garlic rice and pancit - I would’ve liked the longanisa to be cooked more because it was a little softer than I usually have this dish. However, it was still nice and flavorful. The garlic rice and pancit are excellent, and the vegetables help provide balance. * Lumpia - Flavor was excellent but ratio of filling to shell is a little lower than I would like * Ube milk cake - This was unlike anything I’ve ever had. The milk seeps at the bottom keeping the cake nice and moist throughout.

We dined in on a Saturday evening, and upon arrival, we mentioned we were waiting for a few more people to join our group (a total of 4 adults and 1 child) and asked for the bathroom code. The first time we received the code, we didn’t hear it clearly, so we asked for it again later. The man at the front seemed friendly at first, but when he gave us the code a second time, he seemed annoyed. I didn’t think the attitude was necessary, since we were paying customers. It felt like he was more focused on stamping takeout bags than addressing our questions. On the positive side, he took our orders without issue, and everything arrived at our table smoothly. When I asked for the desserts to be brought out towards the end of our meal, he simply said, “Okay, remind me later.”

While many reviews rave about the food, I found it to be just average for a family who eats Filipino food regularly—it could’ve been better. We ordered the sizzling sisig, PLR, island combo, and a few desserts. The BBQ was tender, but the seasoning didn’t stand out, and it wasn’t hot—more like room temperature. The lumpia was good. The pancit was disappointing—it was bland, consisting only of rice noodles with cabbage and spring onions on top. Overall, I’d rate the experience a 7/10. The positive reviews set high expectations, but...
