Wonderful 5/5 experience! My boyfriend and I have been wanting to do more “experience” gifts rather than just getting more stuff/presents around the holidays, so after some research I came across Pike to Plate with Jennifer and purchased the dinner experience as a Christmas present. It was so much fun and we can’t wait to do it again! She is such a welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable host and chef! She walked us through preparing a three course meal (with ingredients all locally sourced from small businesses here in Seattle and form Pike Place - loved that!) and even gave us the names of some of the shops so we could start shopping there as well. We got to make our own fettuccine noodles from scratch (we’re definitely saving up for a kitchen aide and pasta attachment now!!), and even got to learn the history about the ingredients and dishes WHILE we preparing all the food! It was all around just amazing and we will absolutely be booking another session in the future! We also got to talking about gardening and herb growing (because of course she also grows her own! đŸŒ±đŸȘŽ) and she was more than willing to share some of her tips for the garden box we plan to put together in the spring. So yeah - shes pretty much the greatest! Also ALSO
you’ll get the recipes you made so you can make them at home again! 🍝 Anyway, if you’re looking to learn some new dishes or are even brand new to cooking, or are like us and wanted a fun and memorable experience with your SO/friend/whatever, she is THE person to go to! 🌟 thank you Jennifer! - Hannah & Tyle

We had the most incredible evening with Jennifer at Pike to Plate. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and I wanted to surprise him with not only a delicious dinner but something that would let us spend some quality time together as well. After booking with Jennifer, the communication via email was great, she took note of allergies and food aversions. She created a local and fresh meal for us. When we arrived at her home, it was cozy, we were greeted by the warmest smile and excitement to have us. The kitchen was very well laid out with beautiful and fresh Ingredients. We discussed a little about how we would execute the cooking and learn a bit along the way. I was so impressed with how well she knew the menu and order of events we would prep so the soup, meal and dessert would all be finished in their perfect times. We had a wonderful time, it was fun and carefree, Jennifer is so knowledgeable, fun and talented. You could really tell that she was passionate about cooking but was equally as passionate about making sure we had a good time as well. I can’t put into words how perfect she made this experience. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a fantastic meal, educational experience and just a pleasant evening.

We met up with Jennifer on a Friday morning at the Pike Place Market to begin our cooking class. Quickly we found out it was so much more than that, and that Jennifer was going to spend the three plus hours with us sharing not just her cooking expertise, but her love of shopping for epicurean delights, of the Market, and of elegant dining. We visited four different Market shops and learned lots about their history and the best items they offer. We learned a short-cut from the Market to the light rail, and that parking on Beacon Hill makes the trip quick and thrifty. We helped prepare our three-course lunch, which was delicious, but Jennifer put a stop to the participation to wait on us like royalty for our lunch on her deck overlooking her amazing garden and view toward the mountains. We left this delight for the senses just a bit too full, and then were so happy to get the recipes we prepared, plus a bonus one that we have already served three times in the month since our class. We’ve already booked a return to her class, since we are eager to share the experience with close friends.

This is not a cooking class. This is an expedition of culinary and cultural passion led by a sherpa of such vast knowledge I thought I was in a Food Network / Travel Channel documentary. I've lived in Western Washington most of my life, and have been to Pike Place dozens of times, but I've never seen the market the way she does, and I will never see it the same again. I learned about ingredients I use almost daily and why my pasta doesn't hold any sauce. Chef Jennifer opened our eyes to rich history and importance of where food comes from and who sells it. As if that wasn't enough, her joy and obvious love of cooking and Seattle combined with her charisma and natural comfort makes you want to listen to her for hours, hanging on every word.

Her beautiful home is as inviting as she is. We instantly felt comfortable as she assigned us duties in her kitchen and gave us gentle tips on our cooking techniques. The afternoon quickly passed as we chatted and crafted the most amazing meal I had no idea I could cook. We talked about ingredients, substitutions, the importance of one ingredient over another. Storyteller, Chef, Teacher, Magician - Chef Jennifer is master of her craft. We immediately left and went to the grocery to purchase a few ingredients to re-make our menu later in the week.

You will not be disappointed scheduling a culinary excursion with Chef Jennifer. Do yourself a favor and make sure you have plenty of time to spend...
