Once? A mistake. Twice? An error. Three times?? My spouse is an American woman. I am Polish born and bred. She went to George's Sausage and Delicatessen to buy the Polish sausage, two rings/ropes of it. That is all she was buying. So far so good. She came home with the sausages. I checked the receipt. The first time: the sausage was charged twice. The second time? The same. We did not do anything, did not go to complain or ask to give back the difference.
The third time? I was furious! I went to the store and demanded to speak with the owner, Jadwiga Lidzbarski. She is the owner, she can do whatever she wants. I told her what happened. She plainly and quite rudely responded, "NO receipt, no refund. And how do I know that you telling the truth?"
Oh, lady!! I have been shopping at your store for over 18 years, giving you my hard earned dollars. And you respond in this belittling, condescending manner?
I guess an honest American woman and her honest spouse do not deserve to be treated with honesty and respect and billed with accuracy at George's Sausage and Deli store. The owner could have, just for the sake of a good business, if not a refund, give a free rim of sausage and say something like this: "I am so sorry it happened. It was not intentional, so here, have some sausage and please come again."
Nothing like this! I left hurt and disappointed. As a Polish woman, I feel that she did a huge disservice not only to me but also to an American, and the Polish community. We won't want to go to the George's Sausage and Deli. Not ever again.
The Polish sausage, and good Pastrami sandwich taste good, but from now on my foot won't step into this dirty woman's store! There are other stores with similar sausages and sandwiches, in Burien, and in Everett. And if need be - what is Amazon for?

Read moreNot amazing, but not bad. All food is to-go and they have a little store inside of imported polish/european products though which was nice. Had this one on my list for a while to try due to high recommendations. I was finally was in the area because I had to be with someone at the hospital nearby, so it was nice that it was a close walk for a quick healthy to-go lunch. Great, friendly, and on-time service for my build-your-own sandwich that I pre-ordered online. There were lots of veggies in my liverwurst & corned beef sandwich, which I appreciated because I love my veggies, but there was one thick slice of liverwurst (I would've preferred this sliced thinner and better spread out in my sandwich because it was too heavy for some bites and nonexistent in some other bites) and it felt like barely any corned beef (I barely noticed it). I also would've preferred a warm sandwich on that cold Seattle day, but that wasn't an option unless it was a set uncustomizable option the menu. Also disappointed in their rye bread - maybe it's their standard, but I've always had rye that is really fragrant and darker colored, whereas this one was light and had no flavor at all (which was weird to me because even rye at Subway has flavor, so this is my first time with rye like this). Overall, I would come again in a pinch but there seems to be other intriguing options in the area to try as well if I'm already going to pay $12 for a sandwich. I will try again at least once though since I was also eyeing their reuben and pierogies, and saw they have pąckzis on weekends. Will give an updated review once...

My husband got sent home with an entire Farmer's cheese block today that I was going to freeze and use for Christmas or in the future for Pierogis that pretty much has "best by date of 11/09 :(. It's Nov 5th!. I know I can go past this date a little but I expect sealed things to last longer. He should NOT have been sent with such large amount that expires soon. Now I feel rushed to cook with this plus eat it within the next month and we bought an entire $18 block of Farmer's cheese. Please don't do that to customers!
Kabanosy sausage are VERY greasy, I've had kabanosy from 4 different stores in US and this might be the most greasy kabanosy I've ever tried. This might be due to the fact that they have NOT been smoked? How can kabanos not be smoked?? What makes it a Kabanos is the fact that it's a smoked sausage! I don't have a smoker! He bought 3lbs of it because we used to buy it in California, they are simply cooked so what am I supposed to do with this now?. I'm confused about what my husband arrived with. We are used to Polish stores on both coasts and I'm 100% Polish, I know what these should look like, but I'm thrown for a loop.
Rest of the products he came back with were great (canned beets, sauerkraut, cookies, dry soups...all our favorite) but we live far, I can't go back with the sausage or the Farmer's cheese to replace them so am pretty disappointed as to what he got sent with and was VERY excited he stopped by the store while in Seattle.
Advice for customers: check dates on packaging and double check what...
