This hotel and many others (85%) are just not worth it in Seattle from the price paid to the service condition cleanliness. You can pay 60 to 70% less in bremerton across the Puget sound with or without a vehicle and have much better stay and save money even after the ferry costs as going from bremerton to Seattle is free or $2 for faster ferry 30 min or free 50 min ride no car and going to bremerton is 15 no car to 40 with car and cheaper if you have disability and apply online and or buy ticket online. In bremerton any hotel with a 6 or 8 in the name is not recommended if a nice view is your thing or like hot breakfast with egg potstoes sausage bacon breakfast is your thing then oyster is the spot for you but they might keep 100 deposits for a few weeks unless paid in cash as I seen office girl telling someone checking out up to 30 days to receive money back... they needed it I guess, to continue traveling and we're very mad. The hotel next door is smaller and also has a view of oyster bay but they were slightly more expensive and staff were a little picky. They both allow dogs and one of my dogs is a golden retriever mix and desk was a little angry after checking in and paying that dog was bigger than expected it asked how much he weighted but gave multiple choice questionnaire I selected the largest one at 35-40 lbs and gave the breed as I dont know dog actual weight and he said it was much more... but already paid and checked in. I had a Honda fit packed to max with stuff I unloaded from car also a passenger and dog took up one back seat so it wasn't completely full of stuff but ny stuff was extremely valuable so I had to bring it in or it was needed rare coins laptop expensive nike shoes pokemon cards sports cards cloths documents with sensitive info etcetera and front desk Wasn't happy gave a look and asked if it was all necessary and about bringing it all in taking so many trips of stuff but yeah. I did 3 nights and when I went to renew cleaning came before checkout and said it was mandatory so they came in vacuum and whatever but prior to them coming in I went #2 and when they knocked i had just finished and I sprayed some air freshener it was a Hawaiian flower mix so upon checkout I went to renew for a couple of days and fro t desk said that our room smelled like clovers and that we had to check out... not sure what clovers smell like but based off the dog the amount of stuff and it being exactly check out time I paid for a late check out and after I got disabled mom dogs and car fully packed and went in for deposit they apologized and were mistaken about smell and offered us a free night but my mom didnt want to stay there again and so we declined as we had already packed up carnand had to be somewhere very important in state capital we were late too as I spent an hour packing up having to leave instead of renewing and leaving as if the maid or front desk spoke up about the smell of clovers the 2 hours before check out we could of planned on having to go. The best hotel was the largest one on a hill that was overlooking the freeway on one side or parking lot on other side... they have a breakfast with everything and do large batches of bacon sausage potatoes breakfast sandwiches biscuit and gravy inside silverplated keep it warm things apple orange cran milk cereal waffle French toast muffins bagel etc. And room was larger and better than most I've stayed in as i basically live in hotels always going here and there and they have a rewards program with points for discounted or free nights The only complaint there was that we had to leave after 29 days otherwise landlord tennant rights laws came into play and the price fluctuate based off of the number of guests staying their with price rising with the more people staying. They price match if you screen shot it and email it. It's best to play with booking sites to see cheapest nights and paying for entire stay then so price doesn't go crazy lowest was 88 with tax highest was 240 we used free night that day or did reduced rate ...

We needed to change our travel plans on the fly because of Hurricane Hillary & we found ourselves flying into Seattle instead of Bellingham, WA on our way to Vancouver, BC. We had Marriott Bonvoy points to use and we selected this hotel based on reviews & its location while we were sitting at the airport waiting for our flight. The Renaissance Seattle Hotel is a very nice boutique hotel in the business area of Seattle & it did not disappoint us. It far exceeded our expectations. Be aware that this hotel is located at the top of a very steep hill. The bellhop took pity on us and saw how exhausted we were after finally making it up the steep street to the hotel and immediately took our luggage and took it to the front desk. Unfortunately, I don’t remember his name since I would have liked to recognize him for his service since he went above & beyond to help us. We went to tip him, but he immediately disappeared after taking us to the lobby check-in counter. All the staff we encountered were extremely friendly.

The lobby was very open with many places to sit & relax. There were 2 containers of flavored water with cups next to them. They were so refreshing and delicious to drink. On our way out to explore the city, there was a gentleman standing near the elevator in the lobby handing out samples of macaroons that were yummy. In the morning, there were baskets of single serve cookies and granola bars for the hotel guests. There was a good selection to choose from and it was such a nice touch.

The room itself was a nice size & very clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The mattress was perfect, no lumps or sagging & the pillows were nice & fluffy. We slept great! There was a big in-room safe that held our 2 laptops, binoculars, digital camera, & a few other things. There were locally made boxes of chocolate covered cherries, Chukar Cherries, that were complementary. They were delicious! There were also 2 bottles of water in the room that we thought were complementary, but it turned out they were $6 each! Be aware & don’t drink the bottled water unless you want to pay for it. The shower had dispensers on the wall for Aveda shampoo, conditioner & body wash and smelled good.

As for location, as mentioned earlier, the Renaissance is located at the top of a steep hill. We walked up this hill with our luggage from the Pioneer Light Rail Station. We would not recommend doing this if you are not in shape. We thought we were going to have a heart attack after we made it up the very steep street to the hotel entrance. When we googled the location from Pioneer Square Station, it showed about a 15 min walk but it did not show the hills. Next time we will use a ride share. Also, there were many homeless people we passed along the way which was very disconcerting even though it was daylight & in the afternoon. Pioneer Square is a 15-minute walk down the steep hill which is much easier to do than walking up. And about a 20-minute walk to Pike Place Market and the original Starbucks. We discovered that the streets to the North of the hotel are not as steep and could be considered almost level compared to the streets south of the hotel. Keep this in mind when walking...

When I booked the room two weeks prior to our stay, I reserved two double beds for 4 adults. We showed up and entered the parking garage. I have a platinum F150, stock, no lift and it barely fit in the garage! Furthermore, there were literally no spots available, but there was no sign outside of the entrance to the garage warning us of that, so after we went all the way down to the end of the garage, we had to very difficultly turn around and start going back up. We parked in valet reserved spot, praying that we’d simply be able to pay additional to use that spot and not have to deal with the parking nightmare any further... but they said no... those were spots reserved by a different hotel and we would need to go move my truck. I asked if we could call the neighboring hotel and offer to pay, no, nothing. So my boyfriend went back down to the depths to go move it; thankfully, a car left and he was able to snag that spot, which my truck didn’t even fully fit into. Oh, and they charge an additional $45 to use this parking garage. Also while checking in (we weren’t early) we were told that our room wasn’t ready and they didn’t know when it would be. The only available option was a suite with a king bed and couch pull out bed. Since we didn’t have time to wait around we took that as it was the only option available. The gentleman checking us in, while very kind, was to be determined as also very misleading. He assured me that the pull out bed was “very comfortable” and they they could also bring up another mattress to put on it. I was confused so I clarified a few times... that it was an additional mattress? And he kept reassuring me, yes. Normally this would be a welcomed upgrade, especially since (even though I was skeptical) they said they’d be bringing up another mattress. Well the additional mattress was two thin down comforters. I had two hip surgeries in 2020, and my friend had a hip surgery in November. Neither of us should be sleeping on a pull out mattress, especially when we reserved, and paid for, a room with two beds. We all were incredibly disappointed, and were in an incredible amount of additional pain the following day, even though I was able to sleep in the king sized bed, it was incredibly uncomfortable and hard. The gentleman checking us in also said that the bottles of water in the room were complimentary, but they had tags saying they were $6 on them... this isn’t a big deal, and we had our own water, but also a misleading statement. The room wasn’t clean, there was trash in between the nightstand and the window bench, and there were items stuffed between the window bench cushion and the wall. It made me second guess the overall cleanliness of the rest of the room since I could plainly see those items and trash... what else was missed? The pillows were down feathers and just collapsed under our heads. Needless to say... we...
