I only realized this place existed when I was heading to my bus one night. I decided to stop in today because it’s a block away from my work, and I’m glad I did: the food is fantastic. I got a chicken shawarma sandwich and the chicken was seasoned perfectly, tender, and I liked that the bread was thin and also grilled. I know traditional shawarma is in pita bread, but I like that the bread is thin tortilla because then you get more ingredients for what you pay. The thick garlic yogurt sauce was something else (super delicious)—garlic lovers only!! And the little side salad was fresh, crispy, with a balanced homemade vinaigrette. I also got the baba Ghanoush with pita. I wish maybe there was a little more pita, but that is my personal preference. Very tasty amount of char on the bread. The appetizer itself had very generous amount of eggplant, thank god since it’s an eggplant dish. I can tell people love this place bc a couple guys came in while I was waiting and the staff already knew their order. Really glad to have this near me!

I thoroughly enjoyed the food. The flavors and textures of all of the food felt fresh and made in-house. The gyro meat and baba ganoush were primary examples. The yogurt sauce was nice but not as distinct as the rest of their delicious food. One thing to note is that the food is not cheap. The meal in the photo cost me ~$28.50 with a 15% tip. It was delicious and worth the experience, but beware the price. Update: The gyro fries and hummus are good too! I definitely think the babaganoush and gyro plate were better than the food today, but the food is all good. The service is not why you go here. The people behind the counters are incredibly nice but you have to order at the front and they bring the food to you. It's not a full sit-down sort of restaurant. Don't let this detour you from coming here! It's small and doesn't detract from the food. I love the vibe of the restaurant. It's small, clean, nicely decorated, has a nice bathroom, and the table turnover is a good mix of speed eaters and people coming to sit for a while.

Gyro First is an absolute gem! We had a warm welcome in a clean atmosphere with attentive service and the meal exceeded our expectations! The food is all so fresh, flavorful, presented beautifully, and the taste is truly some of the best Mediterranean flavor I’ve ever tried and it’s one of my favorite cuisines. The veggie plate had delicious babba ganoush, amazing hummus, perfectly crisped falafel, and cucumber salad. The falafel salad gave an ideal portion with tasty tzatziki. The baklava dessert is hands down the best my partner and I have ever had - balanced spice for exquisite flavor and texture! The price is really reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food and service and great location, not far from the Seattle convention center. Everything at Gyro First made for a perfect experience for our date night.
