I don't recall eating at Huong Binh restaurant before. The pictures on the glass windows invited my wife and me in there.
We ordered duck noodle soup, pork chop rice with a fried egg, and a couple of iced cold coffee. The coffee was right on point, it was delicious. The duck noodle soup; soup was good, and the duck is not bad with the ginger fish sauce. It's a bit smaller portion than other places we went to.
The rice-pork chop combination can be improved. First of all, the whole plate doesn't look appealing at all. How is the rice sculptured and displayed on a small plate, the egg is overcooked, and everything is crammed up in there. The young man who serves us told that the egg is extra charge while the picture on the wall displayed the whole thing. I told him it shouldn't be, but it doesn't matter we’ll pay for it. Plus I had to order another egg sunny side up. He said to do that they need a special pan to fry it. I said, “No, I'm a cook too.” All you need to do is cook the eggs on low heat and cover a couple of seconds at the end so the yolk is not overcooked. If you flip it over it will be too cooked. He then became quiet.
Anyway, I just want them to improve so we can go back and enjoy more food in their restaurant.
Additionally, we ordered crepes and spring rolls to go. I told the young server that we want fish sauce and no peanuts sauce. We paid for the bill and took off for Lake Chelan. As soon as we got there we started eating the spring rolls. Both orders have nothing but peanut sauce. It's a lost...
Read moreHương Bình is one of those places where the menu feels like a love letter to central and southern Vietnamese home cooking. Big bowls, rice cakes, vermicelli platters—this is food built for comfort and family tables.
The standout here is the Bún Bò Huế (Spicy Beef Noodle Soup) ($14.95). The broth is rich with lemongrass and chili oil, layered with pork hock, beef shank, and cha lua (pork sausage). It’s bold, briny, and deeply satisfying—arguably one of the best versions in Seattle.
Another must-try: the Bánh Hỏi Thập Cẩm (Grilled Meat & Vermicelli Platter) ($18.95). It comes loaded with pork, shrimp, and egg rolls, all over delicate woven vermicelli sheets. Add herbs, lettuce wraps, and nước chấm, and you’ve got the ultimate DIY bite.
If you’re curious about something less common, go for the Bánh Bèo (Steamed Rice Cakes) ($12.95). Soft, savory rice cakes topped with shrimp and crispy shallots—light but packed with flavor. The Bánh Ít Trần (Sticky Rice Dumplings) ($12.95) are another specialty, chewy dumplings filled with pork and mung bean, a dish you won’t see everywhere.
The space itself is casual, family-run, and often buzzing with locals. Service is straightforward, portions are generous, and prices are fair for the quality.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hương Bình Restaurant is a gem for those craving authentic central Vietnamese dishes. Whether it’s Bún Bò Huế or a vermicelli platter, this is comfort...
Read moreI brought couple of friends over this morning. It was really a bad experience and we never come back for sure. The guy work there was very rude. I’m Vietnamese and as an owner of customer service so I spoke to him very nicely but he was rude no matter what.even when he asked for the orders or when he brought the foods over,it’s always with a meaning face even we said thank you,he was still ignoring you and he knew English and Vietnamese for sure.we were barely eating and I found hair in my bowl,so I told him, then he went to the kitchen and told the cook and came back without saying “sorry” and asked if I want another bowl I said “no, I don’t want too”,and my friend stopped eat her soup too since we ordered the same one_”bún bò Huế” They charged me still for the bowl had hair in it because I didn’t want to exchange like “how can I trust you again since all the soup it’s all in the same pot, it might be another hair in there”…and I told him he was being mean while we were being nice after receiving a bad service and still not saying sorry. Our family used to come to this restaurant a lot before, when Cô Hương was still here before she opened another restaurant. I’m not wonder why it’s hardly people there now with this service and the food not that good anymore. I hope the owner read this review and make the service and...
