Went to this restaurant last night for a concert. I was seated with my group. We had to tell the server to come and give us menus, then I had to stand up and get drink menus because the server didn’t give it to us. We had to call the server to take our order. It took over 1.5 hours to get the food and twice for us to ask if we were going to get it. The second time a male server told us that the chef was working on our order. One of the members of the party was missing shrimp on his penne pasta. He send it back and 20 mins later it hadn’t come yet. Since I was closer to the server’s walkway he asked me to ask. I did “Ma’am could you tell me when the pasta for the gentleman will come please?” To what she answered: “You don’t have to be rude, I am not in charge of the table”. Mind you she was the person that took the order. She finally came with the meal and said “shrimp takes a while time cook”. Which is a lie because shrimp takes less than 10 mins to cook and it becomes chewy if overcooked. My food was cold. I didn’t eat it. After 45 mins two of us asked for boxes which we never received. We got the check, and it was all of us in the same check. We needed separe checks and the menu did not mentioned anything about not being able to split the check for big parties as other restaurants have. I suggested to the server that each person went to the order terminal to pay for our check. There were 10 people on the table but 6 checks. I went up there first. They charged me for a whole bottle of wine instead of a glass. The server didn’t even apologize she just told me that she was calling someone to fix it. I paid for my meal. One of the tables never got service at all. There were no stations for the servers so anyone could serve you. It was extremely disorganized. The food was mediocre at best. The best part of the meal was the wine and the concert. I can understand the kitchen being overwhelmed by the volume of guests, but it requires a good leader to keep it all organized,...
Read moreI ate at Harissa in the summer 2024 with my mom, we loved it then (and you can read my previous review) but this time Ali blew it out of the water. 3 of my friends and me have January birthdays so we decided to have a 10 person birthday dinner. I am from Miami and growing up my family had a Spanish restaurants that we would always go to for celebrations. This restaurant wouldn't charge you for renting a room it was on the house. I haven't found such a place in Seattle. It feels every place nickel and dimes you and then on top of it rushes you out for the next party. I did not experience this at Harissa. Ali gave us soooooo much food (we are left full!) was very engaging, and surprised me with the dessert. I would highly recommended if you need a place for hosting a celebration, this is your place. Ali can truly accommodate ANYTHING. You want music, you can have it. You need a belly dancer, he has it. You want to bring a cake, you can do that. All my friends left saying that this is going to be THE place for hosting celebrations because it was 1) that good and...
Read moreWe were visiting the neighborhood and stumbled upon this restaurant with open dining and happy hour, and so glad that we did! Everything we ordered was phenomenal - labneh, pita, Lebanese salsa salad, and chicken special with pomegranate. The portions were so generous that the two of us couldn’t finish and took the rest home, and it was just as good the next day as when we were in the restaurant! I would consider moving to the area just to become a regular at Harissa - I haven’t had Lebanese food this good outside of NYC
For those concerned about dining out while the spread of covid continues to rise, the cleanliness of the restaurant was excellent, the owner greeted and served us wearing a mask, and nobody was seated anywhere near us. They also have patio seating available, and do not reuse pens between customers (he sent the pen home with us to be safe). Very cautious, and very supportive of the community-donating gift certificates to local food banks and regularly offering coupons...
