I just left this restaurant just now. I came in with a manner of civility and respect, but I received the opposite treatment- 10x worst any human being could ever experience. The person that served me is a man, by the name of Ocean T... I was coming from work; I came for a quick bite to this restaurant just to test the vibe and possibly enjoy their food. This experienced would be my first and my last eat here, due to very rude and hostile service I received. I could not believe the reason behind the hostility from the staff. What was the hostility for? I wonder. I only ordered food and no drinks for I have to return to work. It took about at least 30 minutes for my food to be served. No issue there. I had 15 minutes to eat my food and get back to work. I didn't expect much of the service, for I've already felt hostility from Ocean in the beginning, then the other two staff a blonde female by the name of B- this is the one that carries food to the customers while it is still sizzling, and a tall man-drink server by the name Graham, I didn't order a lot, for I have to get back to work. As I finished my meal, I was already crunched on time. So, I got up from my table and initiated the payment process. I guess they didn't like this, the server was loud, and hostile- I felt embarrassed in front of other customers. He was saying, he could have done all of that for me, basically serve me, I appreciated that. But being hostile isn't acceptable, I tell him that I'm in a rushed. When I was about to make a payment, I clipped my card on the mini board and hand over my card to the blonde lady. A few minutes later, they tell me they didn't have my card, and that I needed to make a payment. I was shocked, in front of them I was looking for my card in my wallet. It was not in my wallet. I looked down on the floor, lo and behold, my card jumped out of the clip board to the floor, basically, the server I feel he threw my card on the floor. My experienced, felt negative. Also, that during payment, B and Graham testified against me saying, that both never saw me giving my card to them at all. Then I realized, these people are bad, they could twist my words and get me in trouble with the law if they wanted to. I realized that these workers are untrustworthy, dangerous in a sense that they can lie-they can say whatever they want against you if they...

Today is my birthday and all of my friends are out of town. I wanted to treat myself. So I decided that today was the day to try out Jackalope. It was really busy so there was a 30 minute wait.
In order to pass the time, I decided to walk down to TuttaBella and get some gelato, because itās my birthday and they have really good sorbet.
After 15 minutes had passed, I received a text that my table was ready. I walked back down the block with my barely eaten gelato, I was promptly seated, looked at the menu, and waited to order. While the restaurant was busy, the waitress came pretty fast and grabbed my order. I ordered the carne asada and a shot of tequila, because itās my birthday!!!
The chips were tasty. I got my shot. Took it, and then left to go to the bathroom. I was gone more than 3 minutes, but less than 5 minutes. In that short amount of time, they cleared my table.
My glass of water? Gone.
My chips? Gone.
My half eaten, $6 container of lemon sorbet? Vamoosed.
I donāt know why the waitressā first inclination was that I dined ān dashed.
Management didnāt know what had happened. They offered to bring back some chips and another shot. But what is the point? Why did they automatically assume the worse? I really wasnāt gone that long. Why would they clear the table? What is the point of drinking two shots of tequila by yourself?
I just wanted to pay for my shot and leave. They comped the shot, so now Iām in my car writing this.
I just wanted to spend my birthday with friends and I couldnāt do that. You shouldnāt spend your birthday at home, moping. So I did the next best thing of going out and treating myself. But now Iām teary, moping in my car, out some really good gelato. Happy Birthday to me!
Jackalope, you really, really suck. I donāt know what issues you have, but you should get them worked out.
Here is the picture of the gelato...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe were very excited for this new neighborhood Tex Mex eatery to open and it did not disappoint! We gave it a few weeks after the opening to visit and showed up early (5:55p) to ensure we didn't experience a wait. They tend to fill up quickly and I don't believe they take reservations so going early certainly helps.
We ordered way too much food - we wanted to try everything but I'm glad we did! Here's the breakdown:
Margaritas we're strong and tasty. Not sweet which is how we prefer it. My husband enjoyed two! Agua Fresca was prickly pear that day and was refreshing as was the glass of cava I ordered Chips and Salsa both arrive warm at the table. We ordered queso as well and that was delicious. Not as spicy as we hoped but good. Rockfish ceviche was a decent size for an appetizer. I dislike massive appetizers so this was just right. It was loaded with pineapple and chillies which was a nice balance My husband had the chile relleno. It had a thicker, crunchier batter than what we are used to and we loved it! But the star of the show were the mushroom fajitas with made-to-order tortillas. The mushrooms were Smokey and yummy but OH the tortillas. The tortillas were chewy, soft, and so delicious. Better than any I think I have ever had. I ordered more to go with our leftovers!!
Service-wise we found everyone to be attentive and sweet. And the decor was really well done (we had visited the restaurant that was there previously and could really see the massive transformation they invested in).
We will certainly be back. My only hope is that they work on the rice. We both found it to be dry and lacking flavor. And while we liked our sopapilla dessert, we would love more lighter...
