Wonderful Japanese restaurant, with a great happy hour selection. I was mildly disappointed they didn't have my favorite flavor (peach chu-hi) but as it's a new addition, it's definitely forgivable. Service was also on point, with many apologies due to the pandemic pushing for many phone orders, which I completely understand. They also utilized outdoor seating quite well and distanced the tables an acceptable distance.

Although my friends and I truthfully came here because Issian was fully booked, I still think it is a good quaint location to rely on if you are craving Japanese food, despite being surrounded by many powerhouses, as the aforementioned Issian as well as Musashi's further down the road, and Yorushiku as well. However, to me, having this many options is a blessing...

We ended up at Kozue only after hastily leaving the Thai next door, which on entering smelled like a recently-cleaned public restroom. It's a good thing the barman there didn't think it fit to turn around to greet us when we walked in.

Inexpensive by Seattle's standards, anyway, this is a cozy, friendly, neighborhood restaurant offering a smorgasbord of Japanese fare.

In for a quick bite before a movie at the Landmark, we, a couple, sat at the bar and chose dishes to share from the long list of interesting (and as we discovered tasty) $2.99 Happy Hour appetizers.

The 3-fish (your choice from 8 or 9 offerings) sashimi was good at $13 or so, making our satisfying meal, at $45, without drinks, great value.

Not exceptional, but definitely...

This is a small sushi Japanese place in Wallingford. From the outside it seems like a nice cozy sushi place where you can come in on a weeknight and have a quiet dinner. I arrived here with the friend on a Monday night and was pleasantly surprised to see so many people in the restaurant. This was likely due to the fact that they had happy hour until 9 pm. I ordered the crispy salmon, corn croquettes and shrimp gyoza. While I wasn’t expecting all three dishes to be fried, it would have been a better experience if the server mentioned that all dishes that I am ordering are fried. The warm sake was nice in the cold weather and the food was worth it at its price point. Will definitely come back to try the...

It was everything I wanted. The melodic piano streaming through the quiet and warm dining area, perfectly crisp tempura, I was transported to a fantasy. Hiroyuki Sanada was across from me. This quaint restaurant was where we met so long ago. He always knew my weaknesses and chose this spot to ask for a second chance. I was about to say no, but then he revealed that he was playing the piano melody the whole time. And so he said, "I wrote this song for you. It's called 'You Can't Take the Sonata Out of Sanada'....

Ramen was well below average. Broth was bland there was frozen spinach, a hard boiled egg, and a very dry piece of pork. Soba was a bad quality noodle. It was overcooked and mushy. It came with boiled chicken and seaweed. The dish also. came with tempura vegetables and a shrimp which were soaked in oil. Sadly our experience was regrettable and it will be a one time visit.

I was able to get a table with no wait at 6 pm during the week. I sat out on the patio and had a nice breeze come through, if felt nice even though it was 80 degrees outside. The staff was very friendly and sat us to our table quick and had our water out immediately. The food came out fairly quick too and it tasted great.
