The sandwiches are tasty, but there are too many other issues for me to go back, not with better options like UnBien, Cookies, CrackleMi, Mr Gyros, and others close by.
I started by trying to order online, but it said it would take an hour. From experience, it's not an hour - it's an hour and a half. So I went in person and ordered 2 sandwiches, was told 15 minutes. I finally got them after 30 minutes, even though they were sitting on the rack done for at least 5 minutes.
That's fine, everyone knows they take a ridiculous amount of time, it's ok because the sandwiches are really good right? Not so much anymore, the rajun cajun has gone downhill - it's unfortunate that I had an inch and a half of meat in the middle, and zero meat on the last inch or two of the bread (and it's toasted, so these were rough to eat). Also the turkey is dry, which is usually made up for with the sauce - unless you get a bite of an inch and a half of meat and then it's like trying to take a bite out of the Sahara. I suppose that's better than the italian we also got where the whole inside squirted out of the sandwich on the first bite (and subsequent reconstituted bites), and the paper was soaked through with oil.
It used to be really good, but has gotten worse every time I go; probably won't be back...
Read moreThe internet fails me again - this place is overhyped. Paid $17 for their version of a Reuben, don’t expect anything close to a Reuben…it’s a turkey sandwich with sauerkraut. Skip the Italian - the bread was so hard, mediocre sandwich…could have very well been from Panera. Detonator was too spicy for a sandwich, coming from someone who puts habaneros in my eggs..the thing was all peppers and 2 slices of turkey. Electric wizard was delicious, but that was the only one we’d eat again. Disappointing after spending $65 dollars on 4 sandwiches. If I’m dropping almost $20 for a sandwich, I expect it to be pretty delicious.
I think there are better places to buy delicious sandwiches…the service was also mid. Grumpy guys probably stressed about piecing together sandwiches that they don’t have all the ingredients for. To their defense we walked in before close so maybe they were just tired. Don’t try asking their opinion on sandwiches, they’ll just shrug and...
Read moreSniffed this one out while walking in the Ballard Market…the sandwiches they were banging out that day got our attention quick. We weren’t even hungry but that rapidly changed once we walked by the shop. Awesome ambience, almost Brooklyn chic inside. Just enough hectic, controlled chaos that you would expect, with a staff that was running on all cylinders. We went with the Electric Wizard, it came out in about 10 mins which was 5 mins. faster than we were told. It was piping hot and did not disappoint. Definitely enough sandwich to share. This place even offers a quirky Happy Half Hour M-F 3:00-3:30, you can snag a Rajun Cajun for 1/2 off! Don’t be late or early by a minute !!! Good to see a shop like this in the PNW, being from the east coast I’m spoiled with epic sandwiches, this place fits right in. Lots of spots to hang and enjoy your food, or find a local brewery that will allow you to bring food in, and within minutes everyone will ask...
