We had the weirdest experience here.
My boyfriend is Hispanic and also bilingual and was asking the waitress questions about the menu, specifically the ingredients in the quesadilla because I was curious about it. When he asked the waitress about what the queso chihuahua was, she rudely replied āthereās just cheese and veggies in itā. We didnāt think much of it, so I ordered that. Then my boyfriend asked about the size of the tacos, and then was about to order himself a drink and the waitress stops him and says āI donāt feel comfortable serving you alcohol, you seem a little off. I can serve you in 15 minutesā. WHAT HAHA. We were both so confused, she was not only super rude and had an attitude with my boyfriend the entire time, but was incredibly offensive. My boyfriend is very extraverted and loves asking questions about the menu (especially for me because Iām introverted) when we go out to eat. He was just being his friendly usual self. He was NOT drunk. She then saw that my boyfriend was uncomfortable and said āI see that youāre angry now, I didnāt mean to offend youā. Uh yes you did lady, thatās exactly what you were trying to do. And then she turns to me and asks, āwould you like something to drink?ā In a nice tone to me.
We immediately left. We didnāt want her to spit in our food.
Not only was I also offended that she treated my boyfriend terribly and made him feel so uncomfortable, but it felt extremely discriminating and sexist. Why was she nice to me and then so rude to my boyfriend? Why was that necessary? If I had asked those questions instead of my boyfriend, would you have automatically assumed that I was drunk??
I hardly EVER write negative reviews, because my boyfriend and I are always super nice to customer service and we normally enjoy chatting it up with them. Weāre use to eating up North in small towns and wanted to treat ourselves and have a Seattle night. Turns out the Seattle freeze is legit and worse than we thought.
Weāve had an amazing experience at this restaurant previously, but this time this white lady ruined our opinions of this place and we will NOT be returning.
Iām not sure if she was having a bad day or had a rude customer right before us, but she was extremely out of line and was intentionally trying to make my boyfriend uncomfortable. We are very disappointed.
I do not recommend this place AT ALL. I wish I could...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm Mexican, and I usually don't write reviews about mexican restaurants because I know in the States none of the restaurants will be authentic. But I really didn't like the pozoleš it was tasteless. And for the price I paid... I was disappointed. I assume they have Mexican staff that know the recipe, so I don't know what happened. I can teach you how to do it is very easyš and it doesn't go with cabagge it goes with Iceberg lettuce, radish and lime and in Mexico you always eat it with tostadas. In Gracia, they didn't give me any. I tried before their sopes de cochinita pibil, and they were really good. Sopa de lima is a little bit salty but okay, the carne asada looks like this fancy steak with sweet potato and Noooo I'm norteƱa and a carne asada is good in it's simplicity. The guacamole was great! That's what I loved. The salsas weren't good. They taste like a store salsa. I know it is easy to be on the customer side and criticize, but I love food, and it connects me to my roots and is part of my cultural identity and for the price I think the customer deserve it. I hope to cook some day for you. We are lucky to find almost every authentic Mexican ingredient here in Seattle. Thank you overall for your work and effort. I'm from Tamaulipas, Mexico. Ā Ā Ā Read moreGracia Mexican restaurant in Ballard exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere. The menu offered a variety of options, and we indulged in a delightful feast.
Starting with the sopa de lima soup, we were immediately impressed by the fresh and vibrant flavors. The chips and salsa sampler and guacamole were the perfect accompaniments, showcasing the restaurant's commitment to quality ingredients. The chicken tacos were flavorful and cooked to perfection, while the kids' rice and beans satisfied their hunger.
One highlight was the twist on the traditional refried beans, infused with unique herbs that added a delightful twist. The only downside was that the kids may not have appreciated the distinct taste as much.
For dessert, the churros stole the show. They were perfectly crispy, generously coated in cinnamon and sugar, and simply over the top delicious.
We highly recommend making a reservation, especially if you're looking to enjoy their excellent outdoor seating options. Gracia is a great choice for families, offering a welcoming environment and dishes that cater to...
