We visited on a Sunday night — small crowd, but I imagine it gets hopping when packed with fans cheering on teams like the WNBA Storm or Seattle Reign.

I wouldn’t call this pub vegan-friendly by any stretch, but they do have a few vegan options, which is always appreciated. That said, the menu feels a bit chaotic. For example:

Multiple menus based on time of day (Brunch, Happy Hour, Dinner, etc.) are easy enough on a computer but a bit clunky to navigate on a phone.

The Spiced Edamame is marked with a “v” — but there’s no clear key. Does “v” mean vegan or vegetarian?

A small note at the bottom of the menu says “gf” items may share fryers, though celiac-safe chips are available by request. This feels inconsistent — if it’s marked "gf", it should be clearly and confidently gluten-free.

“Baller basket of fries or tots” isn’t labeled “v”, which is inconsistent with the labeling of the edamame.

Jackie’s Baked Buffalo Dip lists “mozzarella” in quotes, which raised questions. The server confirmed it was vegan cheese, but that wasn’t obvious. The jackfruit dip was great, though I forgot to ask if the "creamy jackfruit" base was vegan.

Tofu Sliders came on Hawaiian bread, which wasn’t vegan. The server confirmed this. While it wasn’t labeled vegan, it’s a dish likely to attract vegan customers. Unfortunately, no vegan bread was available at the time.

On the Brunch menu, it says “or mixed greens (gf/vegan)” under scrambles. If the scramble isn’t vegan, why specify that the mixed greens are?

I’m not trying to nitpick, but these inconsistencies could be improved. I get that vegans probably make up a tiny fraction of their clientele, but with just a bit of effort, they could really broaden their appeal. The staff were helpful and attentive, even if unfamiliar with vegan options — they were happy to check for us.

The food? Very enjoyable. The Baked Buffalo Dip was a hit — we couldn’t get enough. The Banh Mi was decent — loved the vegan mayo! I found the sandwich a bit bland until the jalapeños kicked in near the end, so a more even distribution and extra cilantro could help.

We’d definitely go back. It’s a fun spot to catch a live game and grab vegan eats. That said, it was quiet when we visited. If it were really busy, I’d be hesitant to order vegan unless they’ve streamlined things a bit — just to avoid...

We shared the reign storm burger, the pork belly sliders and the Billie jean chicken wings. I love that this place has like elevated barfood that doesn't feel heavy or greasy, it was very nicely done. The burger was my favorite, came here because I was in the mood for a burger and it did not disappoint. Got it with the side salad which was a large helping dressed perfectly with a vinaigrette so I appreciated that as well. The wings, I think from the pictures we expected it to be an Asian taste with the sesame seed topping but o would describe it more along the lines of a honey bbq sauce! They were cooked perfectly and the taste was great. The pork belly sliders were confusing, we expected soy and ginger with the gojuchang glaze but really it was mostly like a Sriracha tasting sauce that was prominent - almost no soy or ginger came through. The cut is THICK so the edges were very overcooked and tough, understandably with how thick it was but still. Maybe cut it thinner then double up on the slider because the overcooked bites weren't very pleasant but the center was BOMB. The slaw and the bun it came on was awesome bringing it all the flavor together!

Atmosphere was awesome, clean with patio seating (two maybe three tvs on the patio) and a great view of the sunset. They've changed the bathrooms to both be gender neutral but walking into the left one the stall only had a urinal so just a heads up for us non standing bathroom goers. They were pretty cool about putting on other non women's sports when it's not crowded but I would check the schedule before expecting that, understandably it's for womens sports so the tv playing college football was changed when the...

Today was the last time I am coming to this bar. Since it has been open I have tried to support it. A place to watch women’s spots. A place to support our local women’s sports team. But today was the last time.

Game 2 of WNBA playoffs for the home team facing elimination. We walk in to a “sports” bar with the game barely audible. And then at 7pm (game stared at 6:30) they turn off sound to have TRIVIA. I mean what a stupid AF decision. Do you think the bar was packed with folks in Storm gear to play trivia?? You should be ashamed that THIS was the decision you guys chose to make today. And to boot the owner of the place was on premises!

We paid at half time and left to a sports bar a block away that was playing the Storm game with sound on every TV except one.

I thought about whether to write this review or not but think it’s important to share this. This was NOT the first time I have had this experience. Last year during the WNBA playoffs we came to watch a game here on a Sunday. And I asked to have a TV turned to the WOMENS bball game at a “WOMENS” sports bar vs the Seahawks random game (2 tvs were showing wnba and the rest including the giant screen at the bar was showing the Seahawks) and had gotten into a heated debate with the manager who said one random person on the patio was watching the Seahawks so they couldn’t. Well then why say you’re a sports bar supporting Womens sports when you won’t actively prioritize them.

Anyways good publicity stunt bar. Service is always great. The folks working were hustling again today. And I did have an absolutely...

We had a great evening out with a dozen friends at the new Rough and Tumble Pub located in Ballard's historic Henry Whyte building, Owner Jen is a gracious host welcoming everyone to the inviting space she has created to enjoy women's sports (but not exclusively as we were able to catch the Kraken game). With 18 TVs, its easy to request the sport you want to watch and Jen has made it a priority to navigate the confusing array of subscriptions and broadcast plans required to find women's sports. The space has been beautifully renovated with warm wood tones throughout, women's sports memorabilia on the wall, and a couple of pool tables. The bar serves beer on tap along with ciders, hard seltzer, hard kombucha, and a full selection of speciality cocktails (like the “buzzer beater”) and wine. The menu has classic pub fare along with special items. We enjoyed LJ's Jalapeno Bites and the Wambroccolini appetizers; other options include wings, beer-battered pickles, nachos, french dip, or tots. There are four different salad options (add chicken or tofu). For the main, I enjoyed The Bird, a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich with apple and cabbage slaw on a brioche bun; yum! Other mains include mac & cheese, burger, fish & chips, banh mi, beet burger, and BLT. On certain days, you can catch an early game and the limited edition brunch menu. The restaurant is family-friendly and has a separate kids menu. It's a great place to go with friends or to meet new ones.
