I saw the 4.8 review and thought, let’s try it out! For what it’s worth I don’t frequent this cuisine often so I had little reference to compare it to but here was my experience:
I ordered a chicken shawarma w/ upgraded Greek fries + drink combo for around $20. Although I thought it was a little high, let’s face it, this is now the standard price of a decent lunch in Seattle these days. The takeout order was ready in less than 15 minutes while I waited inside. The place was in an old subway and pretty standard takeout restauraunt feel. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
Now onto the food:
The wrap itself had very limited ingredients that I could taste besides the chicken. While there was a good amount of chicken provided, ultimately, it tasted extremely dry/tough and like it had been sitting out all day (for reference I visited around 9 PM). That plus the quality of the chicken used made it borderline inedible for me. Maybe the beef or lamb would’ve been different.
The Greek fries were overwhelmingly completely drenched in sauce which made them very soggy and unappetizing after a few bites.
The tzatziki sauce was only the only portion of the meal I enjoyed. It was light yet full of flavor!
In my opinion and with limited comparison of this specific cuisine, ultimately I feel there are much better uses of $20 to spend at other places nearby. Maybe another menu item would be more satisfying, but it’s unlikely I would go back and willing to spend the money to try them.
My recommendation to the owners would be to cook the chicken more frequently so that it isn’t dried out for orders near closing hours and maybe choose a different brand. Also, ask the customers if they would like other ingredients included so it feels like they are getting more value as it’s pretty inexpensive to make a wrap with chicken and tahini at home. It just lacked a full...
Read moreStepping into this cozy Mediterranean eatery was like embarking on a culinary journey amidst the food hub of Ballard. Had their food at a social event where they sponsored all meals, so wanted to try the restaurant again. The ambiance was warm and inviting, setting the stage for a delightful meal. Very clean restrooms.
Now, let's talk about the food – it was simply outstanding. Every dish showcased the vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean, from the zesty salads to the succulent grilled meats and Falafil (that’s how they choose to spell).
What truly impressed me was the speed at which the food was served in-spite of too many to-go orders lined up. My order arrived promptly.
In conclusion, this casual Mediterranean restaurant exceeded expectations with its delicious food and fast service. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a leisurely meal, this place delivers on both fronts. It's definitely worth a visit for anyone craving authentic Mediterranean flavors served with efficiency and flair. Will...
