I'm speechless. Blown away. This is a new favorite and I'm so glad I came. This place replaced Hi B3AR at the Pacific Rim Center, but the signs haven't been completely changed. You'll see pictures of sushi on the exterior, however. If you're not sure, you can also just walk in and ask. The service was also 6/5, you get asked if it's your first time and then the menu is explained to you among everything else that was exceptional. Every item was also presented aesthetically (see photos) which helped set the mood. Indoor seating is a little limited, but it's a new location that not many know about so it shouldn't be a problem for now.

#1-3 under signature rolls are the best sellers (seared salmon roll, bake king salmon, bake lobster roll). I'll comment on #1 and #3 later.

The Torch Sushi stole the show. Best thing on the menu by far. These torched pieces of nigiri actually have two layers that vary depending on which piece is ordered. Essentially the bottom is a layer of rice, on top of that is a layer of either fish, avocado, etc, with another layer of rice and then the main fish. We got the original salmon, spicy salmon, torch special (white tuna on our visit), zesty shrimp, spicy tuna, and unagi. I'd rank them respectively with the salmons being my favorite items, definitely suggesting those. We were also told that for their bundles, you can order multiple of the same, so that's an option if anyone is interested. We wanted to try a little of everything, though, so we got one of each minus the wasabi tuna and sea sushi.

Seared salmon roll was solid, my second favorite item ordered. I'm a big salmon guy, however, so there may be some bias. The shrimp tempura inside was a nice supplement to the salmon.

Bake lobster roll was also really good! However, it's a bit heavy as the rolls have imitation crab meat and lobster tagged on top. Super filling, so worth keeping in mind depending on your appetite.

Lastly, the Sushi Ave Special was interesting. I enjoy how the outer wrap is salmon, but I think there's too much mayo for my liking. Aesthetically pleasing, but from a consumer perspective it's questionable to me (your mileage may vary). I took some mayo off myself and it tasted good, but it is inconvenient to do so).

Looking forward to coming back and planning on getting more torch sushi and potentially just one new item a visit to test them out. The torch sushi is more than enough...

i cannot find a single thing to complain about in regards to the quality of the food. we tried the seared salmon roll, the spicy scallop roll, the winter of the seattle roll, the torched sushi, the crunchy california roll, and the mount fuji roll.

EVERYTHING was satisfying, but if you are planning on eating anything here, then go for the winter of seattle roll with a side of soy sauce; the creamy crawdad is beautifully complimented by the umami flavour. crawfish isn't something you see often on sushi in the US, but it is so worthwhile.

the mount fuji roll was exceedingly interesting in that it was sweet without any sauce topping. coconut and avocado is a fascinating addition to the subtle crumch of tempura. i would not recommend having this as a standalone dish, more like a palate cleanser between their more savoury dishes (see above).

the scallop roll is also a must-try as there's a generous amount of scallop compared to competitors—i'ven't before had a dish dedicated to scallops that actually left me craving more, and it is such an affordable price! frankly, all of the rolls had a great ratio of rice to fish, so if you are looking for a quick bite, then this store welcomes you.

remember that the parking garage above the block has two-hour free parking, so you don't have to rush during dine-in. being close to the bus stop also helps for...

I placed an online order via Grubhub around 11am on a Tuesday and received notification that my order was ready. When I walked in they said they were finishing up my order and it would be right up. 25 minutes after waiting in the restaurant and having to ask multiple times, I finally got my order. I watched 2 orders handed to people after the restaurant knowing that they had told me the order was ready and that I was now running late for a meeting. No compensation of any kind was offered. They also told me that the torch special takes awhile but that is never mentioned on the website (and if it is that big of an issue, that should be mentioned. My partner and I had ordered the torch special, an avocado roll and the green peace. The torch special was not good at all. As others have mentioned, it's 95% rice and they all tasted the same (which was not good.) My partner said their rolls were very okay and would not need to order again. When I contacted Grubhub they said that they have no way of marking an order as ready and that the restaurant would of had to do that. Overall, a really disappointing experience and...

Sushi Ave has delicious torched sushi options so I made the 15 min trek over from Lumen field just for these! 4 choices (8 torched pieces) for $16 total, not bad! 5 choices (10 pcs) is $18 and any 6 choices (12 pcs) is $20. When I got there there they were whipping out to go orders non stop. I dined in for my first time here and the crew is very friendly and attentive. I chose the salmon, spicy tuna, unagi, and wasabi tuna. The torched pieces held their form nicely while I was dipping them in soy sauce and I loved the flaky texture. Not crispy but not limp either. I do however think the mounds of rice were just a little big. It's not nigiri but the ratio was just slightly off for my liking.

My favorite sushi place in the international district. Food was fresh, delicious, reasonable priced. Our server was fast, friendly, attentive and checked on us to see if we needed anything else after we got our foods. We ordered the salmon lover, and shared the lunch special; lunch special comes with miso soup or salad also. My friend and I especially love this place because they don't pack a ton of rice in their rolls, and the extra perk is the free parking garage which makes choosing this place to eat a no brainer.
