This is a wonderful coffeeshop.. Sorry for the guy who had the bad experience.. I found most of the staff very friendly, despite being overworked during the peak hours.. This is without a doubt one of the busiest coffeeshops in all of Seattle. There is a reason for this! BTW.. I had the exact opposite experience as the other guy. One day I forgot to get cash at the ATM and the barista was very polite and friendly and didn't mind me paying my $3 bill with a credit card, which probably forced them to lose most of their profits on my sale, since CC companies charge like $1-3 per transaction.
Oh yes.. If you want amazing coffee, look no further! Ballard and Seattle Coffee Works both have some of the best coffee in the Pacific Northwest. Everything they serve in their dispensers has been French Pressed and has a very rich, sweet and smooth flavor. I notice French Pressed coffee done right, such as how Seattle/Ballard Coffee Works, Cafe Vita and others do results in some of best flavored coffee you can get.
The prices are reasonable for the coffee as well. You just simply cannot go to a very crowded coffeeshop like this and expect finding the best seat or having a barista wait on you for 5 minutes to be practical. However, when they are less busy, they are some of friendliest baristas I have met in Seattle. The downtown location baristas are also very accommodating and friendly.
Also, I have yet to have trouble with anybody being willing to share a table with me during the busy hours if nothing is available. Seattlites need to stop being such introverts and reach out and touch someone. People in Seattle I have learned, despite being shy are very friendly and accommodating. This shows very much at Ballard Coffee Works... If you want to experience a "TRUE" Seattle coffee experience, go to Ballard or Seattle Coffee Works!
I look forward to returning again when I...
Read moreLet down for the last time. I stop in somewhat regularly when at the Sunday Farmers Market and are familiar with their coffee. I ordered a shot in the dark and was met with confusion, so I ended up ordering a 16oz americano instead. When they gave me the drink it looked like weak tea. I then asked how many shots are in the americano and they said two. No way that is possible as my drink literally looked and tasted like tea. Brought the drink back to the counter and told the staff that this didn’t seem right and handed the drink back to them. I showed them the drink of which they didn’t say anything or ask if they could do anything, but the look on her face showed that the drink was not how it should be. Close to $10 later (after being charged for both drinks even though I let them know the americano wasn’t correct) I was left with a less than stellar customer service experience, as well as subpar coffee. Can’t say I will go back or promote their shop as they seem to be more concerned with looking cool and less about the service and execution of...
Read moreSweet place to sit for a few hours, before Covid they were open quite late. The coffee is phenomenal! I would sit and work on something or watch a movie in my laptop (with headphones) for a few hours on Tuesday nights. Very good wifi, lots of outlets.
There is a semi-private glass enclosed room as well with a long table that you'll often see a group of college kids sitting and working at together. You can't call to schedule the room though, the phone automatically goes to a very long recording.
The staff is extremely knowledgeable about coffee and would give me recommendations when I tried to go outside of my comfort zone.
During Covid I did call and order ahead to run in and grab a drink to kind of show my support. It was a difficult process but they were always super happy about it.
After Covid the hours were different. I know coffee shops around the country have significantly changed their hours since after Covid. I miss it, but...
