Allow me to begin by saying how impressed I was with the quality of food at this restaurant. So much so, that I decided to return with a friend of mine on 10/22/20. My friend and I were already very hungry and excited to dine here. We had driven 30min from my home when we realized we had both forgotten our masks. Looking all around the car for a mask substitute, I found only some cloth napkins. We even used multiple layers and covered our mouth and noses with them. Upon entering the restaurant we were rudely told that we could not come in, and that we needed "proper" masks, although there is no official agreement, and no notice on their place of business as to what a "proper" mask is. Our cloth napkin "masks" were literally just as effective as most masks people are wearing. At every restaurant I've been to since this pandemic, patrons are at most required to have their faces covered if they are up and walking around (or otherwise within 6ft of someone), but they obviously can take their masks off at the table, especially when they're eating. My intention was to cover my face until such time that I was sat at a table. Apparently this was unacceptable. At the time there was only one other patron in the entire restaurant. We couldn't even have stayed out of 6ft range from that one patron, while we were seated? You'd think they'd want the business. Afterall, we didn't refuse to wear face coverings. We were literally wearing them, and were refused service in a disrespectful fashion. At the least I would've appreciated a respectful, helpful, even more human response. "We would love to have you, but we don't want to take any chances with the mask guidelines, we could get fined...etc, etc. let's see what we can do" and/or "We would love to have you, could we offer a disposable mask to you" (Even if it was for sale)...or even if they pointed us in the direction of a place we might get a cheap mask. A little humanity, scientific understanding, and common sense would've gone a long way. I don't care how good their food is, my friend and I, who are both healthy, were treated like leprous dogs. I will not be coming back here. My friend has said he will not be coming back here. Furthermore, My friend has told other friends about this incident, and they've said they won't be giving this place any business. What a way to...
Read moreI honestly can not believe this place got the ratings that it did. This was one of the worst experiences I've had, and the food was not even authentic Mexican. Apparently people don't know what real Mexican food tastes like otherwise they would not be rating it highly. The food was overpriced to begin with and the portions were tiny as hell. We ordered the Carne Asada Tacos and the Carne Asada plate along with chips and guacamole. Guacamole was pretty average, nothing to write home about. I could make it easily at home. The chips were pretty meh. Tiny little triangles, overcooked and not really what I expect from a Mexican restaurant. The salsa bar was a joke; everything tasted like it came out of a jar.
We ordered a Coke and a Pineapple Fresca, which was literally a can of chunked pineapple poured into a glass with a little water to dilute. $3 for each drink and we never once got a refill. The Carne Asada Tacos were laughable. I've had street tacos in Tijuana and the ones served here were a joke. No self-respecting Mexican would ever serve this in Mexico. The tacos were so small I almost needed a magnifying glass to see them. I'm not kidding. The tortilla, if that's what you want to call it, was probably the worst attempt at a homemade tortilla that you could do. I'm pretty sure my cat could whip up a better tortilla than that. The Carne Asada plate? Another rip off. Tiny portion of rice, and a literal single layer of black beans. Not a scoop or pile of beans, a single layer. Then the meat itself. It was floppy. That's the best way I can describe it. There was no char on it like you're supposed to get with authentic Carne Asada. It was just sad and floppy like it didn't want to be there either. The food was horribly underwhelming and I could tell from the lady sitting at the table next to us that she felt the same.
Once we got our food served to us, we never saw our waitress again for 25 mins until she finally came out with the check wanting us to pay for this dismal meal. We spent $50 on food that would barely satisfy a small child. If you want REAL Mexican food, please don't even waste your time here. This is...
Read more“We walked in directly and there was a group of people waiting behind us. A young man came over and told us we would be next after he cleans up the next table, and asked us to wait at the door. So we went to the door and waited there behind the group of guests who were behind us. The young man went to clean the table, and a waitress came and asked the group of people to sit first and let us wait. We said that the young man just said that the seat was ours and that we were here first. The waitress was very rude and rolled her eyes and said, "I am the hostess", we be like, okay, let's wait. We stood at the water bar and waited for fifteen minutes. No one came to tell us that we could be seated. Instead, two or three tables in the back were already seated. Moreover, the place where we stood was very conspicuous. The waitress passed us four or five times. She gave menus to the customers who had just walked in without saying a word to us. I also felt racially discriminated because we are the only Asians in the whole restaurant, and the woman's attitude towards us was so different that she greeted white people with a smile. After embarrassingly working as a doorman in the restaurant for more than ten minutes, I left directly and cried as soon as I left. I had a bad day that day and didn’t feel like confronting the waitress. It took me 40 minutes to find a delicious restaurant that I had searched on Reddit for a long time, but the service was so bad. They also deleted my review elsewhere.”...
