If I could give no stars I would! What a nightmare! We (7 of us) came up Saturday by boat to have lunch and drinks. Our friends had been before we had not. And they were so excited to take us. First their kitchen is being renovated so they had just a few items. We all ordered drinks. I personally got a mojito. The motivation came and it was nothing but rum, sparkling water a lime and a piece of mint. Terrible! I told her and told her to just bring me a Malibu sunset. Then came food. Omg it was all packaged! We asked 5x where the oysters came from and was finally told Virgina. Our friends sandwich came with potato salad and Cole slaw. One of my friends told our waitress how bad it was and she said well it comes from Sysco! My salad, there was 11 pieces of lettuce, a package of Ken’s grassy dressing and a frozen chicken breast that tasted horrid! Our friends got oysters, 4x they asked two different people for some horseradish! Over 20 minutes went by and I caught what we thought was a manager, she went and got it and didn’t apologize nothing, might as well thrown it at the table. Then when the bill comes, between the 7 of us it was waaaaay over $200. For Sysco food! The best was when the bill came, they charged us for the mojito! Had we not been with our friends, I would have demanded it being taken off. I will not will they ever set foot there again! Shameful! Charging $22 for 11 pieces of lettuce and a freezer burned price of chicken is criminal. Don’t go there for the food but even the drinks are...
Read moreCaptain Hiram’s Sandbar has been around for years. As a local of the area I’ve been to Hiram’s several times over the years.
The Atmosphere is the number one reason for this place’s success. The sand bar is great having a nice drink and meal on the sand with maybe some live music is a great feeling.
I stopped in today and ordered a bear in the cave which is the Hiram’s version of a rum & coke dressed with a lime. The drink is $8 which is pretty affordable for a mixed drink at any bar. I then ordered a Big Island Burger Medium Rare. The burger itself was good, cooked correctly and came with some tasty fries. This meal cost $15 which is a normal price for a burger these days. I then ordered another bear in the cave and called it a day. Altogether the price was a comfortable $32 plus the tip. Not bad for a nice time out on the river with a couple of tasty drinks and a filling meal. My waitress was Erica she was friendly and on top of it with getting my order and drinks out.
The area is very busy at night so you honestly can play it either way. If you want a laid back meal on the river go during the early afternoon. If you want to have a loud live band and a thriving bar atmosphere go at night.
If you haven’t been to Hiram’s and you live anywhere near Sebastian you need to experience it for yourself. A one of a kind...
Read moreOh, Captain, my Captain... We went here for my Moms milestone 70th birthday. It's like if Margaritaville (RIP Jimmy) actually was a place. It's got a hotel, a gift shop, fishing charter boats and tour boats, and more. The sandbar is a great place to hang with live music and multiple bars with ample seating. If you're feeling fishy, you can sit on a Hirams boat in the middle of it all. It's not a real boat, but a makeshift seating area. It's a large adult sandbox.
Great for weddings, their wedding hall is breathtaking with a great view, come for a look see. Parties of all kinds are welcomed at Hirams, and they make sure everyone is having a great time. Funnily enough, I witnessed a private party, and 2 attendees were dressed like Gilligan and the Skipper. The wait staff at the restaurant were personable and funny, and they are hiring for awesome people ( I want the job), food there was delish. Make a special trip, bring friends and family it's...
