My wife and I had ordered from Lio Lickes BBQ a number of times, always ordering bulk BBQ, either 1/2 or 1 lb center cut pulled pork. Usually we ordered during the week, but this time we ordered on Saturday afternoon, intending to enjoy home made BBQ while watching football. (We had eaten pulled pork. Sandwiches at LL’s before, and the buns leave something to be desired. So we buy out own brioche buns and use our own BBQ sauce from Sticky Fingers - the best!). This time, we ordered a full pound of center cut pulled pork, no sauce. During our wait, we asked the person who took our order if they had a business card = I wanted to add them to my contacts so we cold call in future orders. She gave us a take home menu which had all the information I needed. The price of our order was $24.61 = the usual cost of a full pound of BBQ, since the Damned Yankees discovered the Treasure Coast. We left no tip - after all, the order was for take out, not dine in. That evening when we were ready for the BBQ, my wife opened the styrofoam container to find fully one third of the order was nothing but gristle and fat! Not good! It was inedible - even for the hogs that my team was playing! Ugh. I phoned Lip Lickersand spoke to the same person who took our order. She had no excuse for the large amount of gristle in “center cut” pulled pork - in fact she seemed not to know what center cut involved. Certainly, it involved no fat or gristle. I asked to speak to the Manager, give them my telephone number so she could call me back, but nothing worked. As i stated previously, we ordered a full pound of center cut pulled pork. We got at least one third pound of inedible gristle and fat! Chances are, we wont be ordering from Lip Lickers again…my advice is to check every take out order - avoid unpleasant and unacceptable surprises such as we had. The employee who filled our order which was fraught with fat and gristle should be fired! The employee with whom I spoke on the phone should have taken my contact information down so that the Manager would have offered a refund. Cross another local restaurant off...
Read moreHeard about the new bbq joint in Sebastian, decided to give it a try on way home today. Ample parking for regular and handicap customers. Inside and out was spotless! They have an enclosed porch inside with tables as well as the front outside, to sit and eat at picnic tables. The staff, super kind, helpful, all of them were very friendly. Ordered pulled pork sandwich with beans, brisket plate, moist end, which came with two sides. Opted for cornbread and mac n cheese to try more of the menu. Sweet and unsweetened tea, along with other soda beverages and beer options available. They have 3 sauces to choose from, tried two, both were good, and fortunately, sauce is not on the meat, you add if you want. Hubby liked his pork sandwich, said beans were just ok. My brisket was very good, tender and flavorful, so much so, that hubby ate couple slices of my plate. Mac n cheese was pretty good, corn bread kind of half n half old style and sweet style which we enjoyed. All in all, we liked our meal. Will be back again, as well as let some of our friends know to give it a try. Price usual, portions decent. I think with a few tweaks here and there, they will do very well, and we wish them...
Read moreWe Drove 40 minutes to go and eat at this place because I heard of it on the radio. We got there the girl didn’t wanna let us order unless we were taking it to go and they still had 40 minutes before they closed. The food was a 2 on a scale of 10 at best. We spent $110 cause it was five of us and I just wish We would have went to Sonny’s instead. The barbecue was dry, the potato wedges were burn up and cold, we asked for mac & cheese. They had one container of it, and the girl dropped it all over the floor. It was just a horrible experience all the way around. they were telling other people as well that unless they were getting it together, they couldn’t stay cause they wanted time to clean up when they still had 40 minutes before closing. And that’s the other downfall they close it 7 o’clock on a Friday night. Anyway, we were not happy with it at all. And it was a complete waste of money. I hope everybody else has a...
