Located between Route 1 and Indian River Drive this hotel is on a quiet street where it's relaxing to sit on the veranda, but is walking distance from all of the sights and establishments in downtown Sebastian. Close to it all, but quiet and relaxing for when you just need to unwind.
The rooms are beautiful, and spacious. Oh, the coffee makers are full size 10-12 cup units-this was a big plus for me because like my t-shirt says: "I drink coffee for your protection" :) Also the trash can in the kitchen is a full size kitchen can (13 gal) instead of the standard hotel trash can that is full after dropping in two empty water bottles. Another plus! Yes, simple things impress me when I'm trying to relax.
There is a private pier for guests only, where you can fish, sit and drink your coffee while watching a sunrise, or watch dolphins chasing a meal.
There is also a tiki deck with a gas grill. We needed a break from eating out and ordering in, so we picked up some burgers, buns, cheese and a small bottle of ketchup, along with deli-made potato salad, and had a relaxing little cookout one evening. Stop at the koy pond on your way to the tiki deck and watch the fishes.
It was too windy during our stay, but they also have kayaks for guests to use, along with some bicycles.
Staff... Kyle runs the place and does pretty much everything. He's the desk clerk, room cleaner, maintenance man and more. He's always working on something, but if you need something, he'll generally drop what he's doing to take care of his guests. Great host! Since he's always working to keep the place so nice, office hours for check in are limited, but if you let him know you'll be early or late, he's great at making arrangements to take care of you.
All in all, this was the most relaxing vacation I've taken in years, and the biggest part of that is where we choose to stay. Davis House...
Read moreBooked this hotel due to reviews about friendly staff and was very disappointed. Booked on Priceline, which stated there was a 24 hour office. We arrived around 11pm after driving 1.5 hours to get here. ||Office was closed, doorbell was broken. My boyfriend had to call the number on the front door for service. We were greeted by a very rude man who said he was the owner. He did not even attempt to hide his displeasure at our late arrival, stating, “if you read the website, you’d see the office closes at 5 pm” and then pushed my debit card back to me on the counter when I questioned the 3.5% additional charge on my DEBIT card…. When the website clearly stated the charge was on CREDIT CARDS. He literally told me “I’m not dealing with this so late, take a hike”||I stood there not knowing what to do and then proceeded to show him where it said directly on the website that the office was open 24 hours. He took a picture of my screen with such a bad and rude attitude. ||I understand if he believed the website said something different than what he thought it did, but how is that a guests fault? A guest that just paid $434 non refundable to stay at his property?||If we hadn’t just driven an hour and a half to get here we would have stayed at best western or the much nicer hotel, Captain Hiram’s, just a couple blocks down.||This owner was so aggressive and non welcoming towards us. We work full time and were trying to enjoy a very rare date night and this rude man treated us very poorly. DO NOT STAY HERE if you want to be treated well. Or at least expect to be treated as if you’re a jerk when you arrive late in a Friday night for check in.||HORRIBLE experience. I felt awful the rest...
Read moreBooked with Priceline which said 24hr front office service. Arrived at the hotel around 11pm but office was locked and doorbell broken. Called the number and the owner, Kyle, answered and said our key would be in the box outside office. It was not. He then said he would be "right over". 30 minutes later he arrived and immediately greeted us and the other guests sitting outside their room with hostility. When trying to pay for the room he aggressively tried to inform us that the office closes at 5pm to which we responded that Priceline says it is open 24hrs. Immediately he slammed our credit card on the table and told us to leave because he "wasn't going to tolerate this at this hour". We showed him the Priceline page that said they are open 24hrs, he took a picture and snatched our card off of the ledge and resentfully began to check us in. After apologizing for checking in so late because we thought it was a 24hr front office, he proceeded to agressively belittle my girlfriend and make it seem like it was OUR fault. I've never encountered someone so incessantly rude and hostile over simply trying to book a room and provide them with business. I will NEVER go to this establishment ever again due to the incredibly ridiculous attitude we encountered with the OWNER of this hotel, Kyle. Thank you for forever deterring us from this place of business. Next time, I'll gladly book directly from Captain Hirams for the better location , shorter walk to entertainment, and much...
