There were people waiting when we got there ahead of opening. Apparently this is common because they had chairs out alongside of the building. Place is very clean and well maintained. There is a system- line forms along the wall of drink coolers. Portions are generous and the quantity pictured fed 3 adults just fine. Everything was good with certain items being excellent. Our preferences of what we ordered were: beans-yes they are a side but they were SO good they had main Entree taste-we tried them on the jalapeño cornbread and the brisket-excellent! Followed by beef sausage(excellent snap in the casing), brisket/ribs-both very good flavor, Apple slaw-mild and did a nice job of giving the palate a break from the big flavors of the beans and BBQ, the jalapeño cornbread was good-consistency was very moist (maybe from the honey used when making it?) and finally the Mac &Cheese-my husband and his bother are REALLY picky about Mac & Cheese-basically if their momma didn’t make it they don’t want it BUT this was really well made with a creamy cheese sauce and perfect noodles. I want to mention the music and the album covers on the wall. Such great R&B music from the 60’s-70’s! I don’t know what they usually play but today’s playlist while we were there was perfect. Staff was cordial and welcoming. Service was quick and efficient. Everyone was great. Yes I...
Read moreI got the 3 meat 2 side combo today. It was really good I got tri tip, brisket and ribs it was all really tender, I liked the tri tip the best but thats me. I got the mac and cheese and the baked beans they where good a little different than what i was expecting but still good. Round 2 This time I got a 2 meat combo with tri tip, an ox tail and I added a sausage it was awesome, I would totally recommend trying this option. Me and my mom love the tri tip but the ox tail and sausage surprised us we will definitely get this combo again. I forgot pics but will take some next time will be back again Round 3 didn't think I'd be leaving a change in review like this but I dont think I'll go back they completely changed the menu. They took off pulled pork and tri tip and they removed there combos so today was crazy. I got the same amount off meat I got last time and 2 sides it was over $70, last time it was $48 or so just under $50. The meat was still good but the sides don't get me started the cornbread is hard and dense with no honey flavor its was terrible I think it was from last week I could see it was sitting in the fridge for a while once I got home worst cornbread I have ever tried. The coleslaw was just ok it needs more sauce and more apples we didn't taste the apples at all. This place went from a total recommend to a place I might...
Read moreNot to be mistaken by Marvin's Deli & BBQ, this Gem is now under new ownership and has been featured lately by Sonoma County Foodies as one of our county's best BBQ. Upon arrival, the door was opened by the Co-Owner Chris, the gentleman of the business Instagram Account, with a warm welcome. Our family had the Brisket, Tri-Tip, and Pork Ribs with their Mac, and Beans, and both Cornbread versions. Our breaths were halted with our first bites of the amazing seasoning and delicate meat as it practically melted in our mouths. And this was before tasting the accompanying bbq sauce. Honestly didn't need it but the sauce is great also. The Mac is a fancier multi-cheese sea-shell side that should compete with some of the best Mac Dishes from high end restaurants in the county, Yum! My wife, a southern comfort cook herself, has given the beans a huge thumbs up. And the Jalapeño Cornbread is so perfectly moist with balanced spicy sweet enjoyment. The restaurant is still in transition with upgrades so no stars off for ambiance just yet. Keep it up guys and keep the good hands on approach to your ownership management and this will go much further than Marvin's Old...
