Muir's Tea Room & Gift Shop — Restaurant in Sebastopol

Muir's Tea House is a hidden treasure in the heart of Sebastopol -- a quaint vegan high tea restaurant that also serves lunch and dinner in the historic Queen Ann house. Vegan High Tea for two runs $60, and is an excellent value for a four-course vegan meal featuring soup, salad, and a three-tiered tray of traditional British crustless sandwiches, pastries, scones, and sweets, and a bottomless pot of tea. The Earl Gray tea is superb, and the Scottish Highland tea is bright and flavorful. The curry soup was outstanding, and the avacado and cilantro salad and the pastie was spicy and delicious. There is plenty of seating indoors and out, as well as an espresso bar and gift shop. We even had a pleasant conversation with owner, who opened this establishment three years ago. This is the perfect place for vegans to take their non-vegan family and friends. A STORYBOOK EXPERIENCE! Ever wondered what it’s like to be in a story book? Well this is IT! From the moment you pull up to the curb it’s a dreamy entrance. Walking up the woodsy steps, you are first met with a hallway of the most precious gifts, stuffed animals, and whimsical decorations you could imagine. Then such happy humans are greeting you and ready to accommodate you through and through. The music, the aesthetic, the vibe is all just right. You feel like you’ve escaped to a place with no time, and full of wonderful treats and company. The impression left on me by these loving and creative humans will last a lifetime. Every season blooms in its own beauty through this tea house inviting you to enjoy it differently throughout the year. Who knew visiting a vegan tea room could be a profound and almost spiritual experience?! Thank you Muir's for the absolutely MAGICAL afternoon we spent in your sanctuary of kindness, compassion and love. 🪄

High tea is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE things, and it's almost impossible to find a vegan version, but thank the universe, Muir's exists, and we planned a visit to Sebastopol around it. We were lucky enough to visit during the Harry Potter Extravaganza, and the thoughtfully crafted menu featured everything from butterbeer to Hagrid's wild stoat tea sandwich to a golden chocolate frog! Such a delight!

When the tea service came out, I was beside myself with joy. Everything was enchanting -- both beautiful and absolutely delicious! It totally exceeded my expectations.

For those of us who long for a kinder world, Muir's is an oasis.
