This is not prime rib. This is a ribeye steak. I wanted to take advantage of one of our local places that do a Thursday prime rib dinner. I had to go to Selma so I thought I would take advantage of Long Leaf Taverns deal. The one lady they had working was super nice and I got to meet her grandkids. I knew I was in trouble when she asked how I wanted my prime rib cooked. I told her I wanted a nice center cut. She had no idea what I was talking about. When my food came out I got the steak pictured below. I told the lady and she did not know what to say. I guy came out from the back, I told him the same thing. In the end they did not charge me for dinner but I was very disappointed. The cost was going to be $30 for a very lean ribeye that looked like something out of a 1980’s Beefsteak Charlie commercial. Friends shared that they enjoyed the wings and burgers best. The bar had a nice selection of draft beers, I enjoyed the black cherry cider and my fiancé the mango tango foxtrot from Deep River Brewery.
